mild cold before surgery

Hi all,
Do you think you could still have surgery if you had a mild cold..I'm about to have a hysteroscopic mymectomy this fibroid and been told I will have a general anaestetic.
I don't have a cold as yet but I feel like I'm about to have one..my chest feels tight and my voice is a bit funny...I'm frantically drinking orange juice at the moment.
I've read that you could have my operation under local or regional anaestetic...If I did have a mild cold would the surgeon;s do that or will my operation be cancelled..I don't think I could wait any longer I've been sooooo depressed and stressed in the last 5 months.. besides I've already had 6 zoladex injections..I know I can't have anymore..
Any advice or help would be much appreciated

Well done - it's great to have you back and now you can put it all behind you!! Fantastic.
Sorry you had a few problems but they've all been sorted so you can forget about them now ......
I didn't like to ask about the bowel specialist last week - i wondered if you had cancelled it. Please don't start worrying about a colonoscopy Tezi - just forget about it for a few weeks (I'm sure your problem IS piles and can easily be put right!) So please, promise me you will not start reading up about all sorts risks and problems - I will talk you through it nearer the time!!
Take care and take it gently for the next week or so.

I had one fibroid right in the middle of my womb..It caused me unbearable periods and pain. I had a hysteroscopic myomectomy which involved removing the fibroid from the womb through the cervix.
Don't worry I was just as worried as you probally more, once you have a scan they will tell you what your options are and possible treatment.
Surgeon told me I should get my periods back in 3 month because I've been having monthly zoladex injections which stop your periods for a while before surgery.
How long have you had this problem hun?

Don't worry it's all quite normal - you will have cramps and spotting for a while. And as for your privates being tender - well, if you saw what went on in the operating theatre, it's hardly surprising! There's a lot of pulling and tugging going on - I would never want a gynae op. under a local anaesthetic!!
Everything sounds right on schedule Tezi so you have nothing to worry about.
Take care
