    Hi Paul

Yes I take mirtazapine and have been doing so for about 8 weeks now, do you have any specific questions about it?

And yes as the moderator said there is a group on mirtazapine where you will most likely receive a better response from others taking mirtazapine for the specific questions that you may have.

    Hi Sunset

What is your experience with it? Does it give you any bad side effects? I've heard it makes you really hungry and you put on weight which i'm excited about if thats true lol

Well...i could go on forever if i was to tell you every detail of my experience with it, but i'm guessing you want some hope, so yeah overall after 8 weeks i am feeling a lot better than i was a few months ago. I had tried citalopram for 8 weeks before changing to mirtazapine, and i do feel like it's working for me. It's taken it's time though.

First few weeks I was very up and down mood wise and highly anxious most of the time, i did go to the doctors and they just advised me to stick with it. I knew that it was going to take at least a couole of weeks to start having any effect but it was frustrating living through that wait.

It helped my sleep immediately, i suffered terrible insomnia, but mirtazapine has a sedating effect which helps me get to sleep quickly. I can't believe how much i sleep, i often feel tired during the day though.

Other than tiredness and the increased anxiety in the beginning i haven't had any of the bad side effects like nausea, headaches, diziness etc.

Yes it has increased my appetite loads, it was alright to start with because i had lost quite a bit of weight from being ill and having a loss of appetite, but i'm trying to watch i'm not eating too much now so i don't put too much weight on.

    What dose are you taking?
