hi kerry-ann you sound like a normal mother would in your case mirtazapine is a good medication for anxiety have you read the leaflet properly on mirtazapine because in the leaflet it says some people mite get back pain which you say you have if you have not told your gp this is happening to you it mite be a good idea to tell your gp this . and also the acid feeling you get they mite prescribe an anti gastro that should help with that also . but has of concerns of not waking up in a event of your children becoming ill . it's more important that your health is has good has it can be not only for your children but for you and your health is important the chest pains you talk about should be checked out right away with a chest scan through your gp if they have not allready done so . i hope the info was helpful and are of wise words to you.

I am on lansoprazole for stomach acid, I have had a camera down and showed it takes longer than it should for water to empty, my chest has been like this now for 5 Years, I did get sent to a breast consultant about my left side and he said the area felt rugged, he did an altra sound scan on the area and they said the area is ok nothing dangerous just inflammation. I have had a MRI on my brain last year due to head aches I get and all was fine, I am booked in for blood tests and ecg at the doctors next week, they want to check my thiroid, I'm 30 in July, and just got no get up and go. I'm seeing a psychiatrist I think that's what he is called at the doctors on Wednesday hopefully this will help. Doctors keep saying if it was anything to do with your heart something would of happened to u by now

I had the freeze spray on the back of my throat, it was ok, my liver was elevated as they used it I was on escitrapram then I weaned myself off them and a month later had a blood test for my liver and it was back to normal. My doctor says it's anxiety every time, my argument is if the pain wasn't there in the first place I wouldn't have anything to be anxious about, how long have you been on mirtazpine for? X

Hopefully your liver will be ok this blood test if this med suits you, did you have the camera down, forgot what this is called even though I have had this done myself. I haven't plucked up the courage yet to start the tablets, I'm scared they will make me feel worse x x

Hi I've been taking mirtazapine for 5 days now and I have been completly fine . No side effects except being tired in the morning . I have a 7 year old son and I work full time. I've been able to work and look after him perfectly fine also I drive and these tablets have not affected that either. I was scared like you as I've had really bad reactions off ssris before but you honestly have nothing to worry about x

Thankyou x I'm seeing a councillor on Wednesday, I wanted some reassurance that I'm doing the right thing, im probably not doing myself any favours waiting but I guess anxious and anxiety is defeating me by not taking them. Have you got anxiety

Yes I have anxiety that has lead to depression now . It's hard because it's the anxiety that stops us taking the medication. I've found these tablets to be OK for me so far
Hope you get sorted soon.
X

I was diagnosed in 2012 with PTSD. I still work as a paramedic but find I am struggling with everyday life. There seems to be no specific trigger for my anxiety. It is as a switch turns on and there it is. I did have my thyroid checked levels were slightly on the high side. So that is being monitored.
I started Mirtazapine in January. At first it knocked me out but I’m somewhat use to it when taken at night. I am able to stay up until 10 and get a good night sleep with some really wicked dreams.
During the day my blood pressure rises and I get anxious. I started taking 0.5mg of xanax to curb the anxiety. I know this is a poor choice in the long run.
Perhaps the 15mg of Mirtazapine is just not enough. I am considering an increase to 15 mg day and 15 mg night.
Is anyone else on this path?
I also started exercising again and noticed that helps with anxiety as well.
Wish you all well...I’m off to work
