MIS operation cancelled!

I was booked in to have my bunions removed in January 2015. My surgeon's secretary has just phoned me to book me an appointment to discuss my surgery as he has decided not to perform MIS proceedures for at least the next two years but he will be happy to op using traditional open surgery. I am gutted. Anyone out there that has had MIS surgery? I need some reviews to help me make up my mind what to do. The surgeon said he will refer me to another surgeon if I insist on MIS. I am having op under private med (BUPA).

Bev - David Redfern used traditional bunion surgery for several years. He has been doing MIS for 6 years and done more than 1000 MIS procedures. That us one of the reasons I chose him to look after me. I absolutely agree with Mimbles on this one. (Just to add to your confusion :d)

      Mumbles agrees with Sandispoon too!

Sorry to complicate your life Bev but Redfern or someone like him with great experience is what you need! smile

    Awww. Poor Bev

I do feel your confusion. Poor thing. I'm not sure yet but I might have to go for another op if surgeon agrees that my surgery was under corrected. If I had a choice I don't know what I'd choose either😟
