Have you ever had this problem before? If it continues, you should go back to your doctor. It might be interstitial cystitis. Very painful condition. Happily iit istreatable now. I will warn you that some doctors don't believe it is a real diagnosis. Good luck, hope you feel better.

Hi all, been following your discussion.  Has anyone noticed a difference in painful intercourse? We have pretty much given up on it and I don't want to, but due to no hormones, no desire - and the knowledge that it is going to hurt -- I feel bad obviously for husband too.  Was given prescription for Estrace (I think it was, it was a compound) and nearly dropped my jaw when I went to get it and it was over $150 and that was half with my insurance -- is that what you Estrace users was paying? I didn't get it, I was pretty angry about the cost...  I'm trying Vit. E and something called Pure or something, the coconut oil on the entrance, as that is where the main issue seems to be, the vag. opening is tight, smaller...  we haven't tried sex since trying these things... its so discouraging..

I used the Estring for a few months and was just getting some good response, when  the last two times, the ring had attached itself to my cervix and the last time had to have husband get it out.  Not TOO embarrassing!!  So I stopped that, it was scary.

Would appreciate any more info on Estrace and if it is the same cream that I was prescribed, if you paid that exorbitant price on it...  thank you so much for talking about this!!

wow that is a lot for estrace ! I paid $15 for a months supply after my insurance. Now I use yuvafem the new generic for vagifem and only pay a $5 copay for 12 doses. Yuvafem is just a little pill in a small applicator. Each applicator is wrapped and only used once, no cleaning and reusing like estrace. And not messy. I can't feel the little pill at all. I'm grateful for our insurance through fed ex

The prices for this and all other drugs varies greatly depending what insurance plan you are on. This gets into a whole other area of concern-drug prices in the US. Even on medicare the prices of drugs depends on what supplement plan you have. It is really ridiculous.

I had the Mona Lisa touch done. Doc gave me a fourth treatment but since then I feel a little burning and use coconut oil. I was getting burning in my urethra and it took four docs before I was diagnosed I also have ic and overactive bladder which I take Valium for. So peeing a lot can start the burning. I had breast cancer so cannot take estrogen of any form. I'm sick of this but coconut oil so refreshing

I had my 1st laser treatment today and it was so painful. It took everything for me not to stop and walk out. Did anyone experience this kind of pain. They did not use numbing cream. Hopefully for the next treatment I can ask for it. The probe going in was the most painful!!.

I didn't Have pain with first three treatments but this year for tune up it was painful.  I will ask for numbing cream next time.  Lately have been experiencing burn again and feeling of uti but tests say no uti.  I had tune up about two months ago.  Going to call and go back if it does not let up. Hope it's not back again. Hope you get telling relief. No other answers for this awful condition

My Dr. used numbing gel before each treatment. She just told me that she would use it, I didn't ask. I didn't have much pain at all during the procedure.

I went back for the tune-up at 8 months and then had another 6 weeks after that. That really improved things again. So, I have had a total of 5 treatments. My Dr says I can come back as soon as every six months if I feel symtpoms returning.

Jean my doctor is charging 1000 for tune up  ...how about yours.

If it works ok but if not its a shame. Have enjoyed a year of pain free. Hope it's not back

Mine charges only $500/ session. Same price for tune-up. The price hasn't gone up since I started this. I can tell things are much improved.

That is a big difference in price. I like be in Bay Area California. Everything costs twice as much here.   Where r u?

The internal part down't feel much of the procedure but my doctor always uses a strong numbing cream on the outside specifically for that initial stage. They have to dry out the vagina completely so that makes it worse as there is not lubrication as minimal as it might be with this condition.

I had 4 treatments I was getting burning in my urethra.  Since the fourth I have been having problems I got urethritis twice in between the treatments.  I am now on estracre.  She's doing an endoscopy in a few weeks.  I have overactive bladder which doesn't help.  I have cancelled when I don't feel good .  I use coconut oil and pyridium all I know is I paid $2000 for this and I should.100% better and I'm not

I'm on the central coast in California and it is $2000 for all 3 sessions or $750 per. My doctor says that sometimes you need to get it done once a year after for maintenance but since I'm on hormones (estrogen) I shouldn't need this. That would be for women not on hormones or who no longer produce estrogen.
