Mono need help

Hi so In June I woke up one morning feeling very weak. I thought I needed to eat something but when I ate breakfast I still felt weird. I ended up having my first panic attack. My entire summer was filled with ER visits for weakness, low energy, fatigue, dizziness, off balance feeling, and generally feeling unwell. It turns out I have mono (diagnosed a week ago). I don't know what to do. Just looking for others' stories and well and recovery process. It's my 3rd month and I just feel so helpless. ?? Thanks guys ! Blessing to all

It's so hard to stop your mind from racing about it all Christy, I really do get it and have been guilty of that so many times myself. It's understandable, don't beat yourself up about that and anyone would be the same going through the horrible symptoms you are. By taking vitamins and stuff you will be helping with your immune system against flus and colds and other viruses, and the simplest advice on that is the best, washing your hands regularly, especially when in contact with people.
But main thing is to try and not worry - even if you did get a cold / flu type thing, you would get over that too it's just not nice to have to deal with - so try not to stress and remember you're going to get better you really really really are I honestly feel and believe that Christy - in Jesus' mighty name.

Hi Christy,
There was only one time when I had a tummy bug early on in my illness, every time my tummy churned, my arms went cold and I felt like I was going to pass out, although I was laid flat!! It was a really horrible weekend, I even went to hospital.
Obviously, it's better for you not to worry and to be calm but I know it's easier said than done. Just know that it takes time, I've called it my sloth illness of recovery!! ( 'you' need a laugh otherwise 'you' might cry) I did a lot of crying and I just couldn't help it. But things are so much better for me. And this will happen for you too, it really will. Try not to worry, please. Xxx

Hi Christy,
is it like 1.30am for you right now? Do you find it difficult to sleep? I never have used magnesium so I can't help you in that!? But I did want to reply to you in any case. It can't be easy and I really sympathise. What month are you in now??

Hi Caroline yea it’s actually 2:50 ish over here so that makes it a little worse 😂. And my sleep has been getting worse since I’m home from school on break again. Thanks for the reply and this is month 7 of the virus but only month 4 since getting the actual diagnosis

Hi Christy,
I have used a magnesium spray in the past, only briefly though and each day I take magneisum through a supplement. But key thing is you find the spray helping you, keep using it! It's about finding what's working for you and what helps!
Agreeing with Caroline fully and empathising with you Christy,, it's so hard if you can't find a proper sleep pattern either. Sometimes even trying some relaxation techniques at night can be good, a thing that worked for me has been listening a radio show I like in bed and just falling asleep with it on, or listening to relaxation videos on You Tube or relaxation apps or music whilst in bed before you go to sleep.
Hoping for a good day for everyone...and remember you ARE in the process of making a full recovery. Every dip and symptom is just another sign that your body is getting to grips with it all and kicking it out for good!

Gosh, it is early for you. Remember though, although 7 months is a long time, it's not long for this virus.
do you sleep in the day at all? Maybe a nice walk in the fresh air (if you don't normally) might help you sleep better at night? Otherwise, things will settle down soon, I'm 5 months in front and in such a better place. i hope you get a better sleep tonight xx

Hey Caroline,
Hoping things are still a bit more settled for you at the moment. Yes totally agree that getting a walk in the fresh air is good for folk if they are able to, so long as folk not pushing themselves too far of course - even just something to break up the day is enough and at a gentle pace.
Oh Lisa maybe something worth folks looking into then that powder you mentioned, glad to hear it's helping!

Hi guys writing because im anxiety filled and just can’t seem to catch a break this week 😂. I was laying in bed as I usually do and I heard a big boom across from my bed. A bottle of liquor ( that I keep as decoration) on my dresser exploded. My mom said it’s csuse oxygen got into it or something. All I know is, I spent the last half an hour cleaning up liquor and it got on my hands plus my room smells like it until it dries and I’m freaking out because I read online that even if you don’t drink but you smell it you can get drunk and I don’t want to be inebriated while I already feel awful with mono. 😩 I know it’s probably my anxiety making this worse but idk 🤦🏼???

Hope you’re okay, sounds like you’ve had a bit of a fright. Things like that happening when you’re already feeling low and anxious can just be the final straw sometimes. Please don’t worry I don’t think you will get drunk or anything like that, and even if you did it would be okay anyway. Just breath deeply and you will feel better again, really understanding that you’re just feeling rough and scared just now. I totally empathise and thinking about you Christy. Things are going to be okay, you are going to get better. I believe that.

Hi Christy,
Hope you're feeling a bit better today, it's understandable it's a very emotional time going through mono, it's normal to be like that and just remember your mood will lift and anxiety will ease the longer things go on as your health improves - definitey something to look forward to and you deserve so much as I know it's been such a hard time for you!! Thanks for your best wishes too Christy that's very kind of you, I really appreciate it!! You take care of yourself.
