Mono need help

Posted , 34 users are following.

Hi so In June I woke up one morning feeling very weak. I thought I needed to eat something but when I ate breakfast I still felt weird. I ended up having my first panic attack. My entire summer was filled with ER visits for weakness, low energy, fatigue, dizziness, off balance feeling, and generally feeling unwell. It turns out I have mono (diagnosed a week ago). I don't know what to do. Just looking for others' stories and well and recovery process. It's my 3rd month and I just feel so helpless. ?? Thanks guys ! Blessing to all

Hey guys. So- after being able to manage the last few months (not back to normal but good enough for everyday tasks), I went and had reflexology done on my feet on Monday.  Within two hours the fatigue set in and now I’m pretty much bed bound.  Has anyone experienced massage or reflexology giving them a relapse?

Ugh! We leave for Disneyland next week and I was really excited that I’d be able to go instead of staying in bed the whole trip.

Why does this virus start to go away and then out of nowhere, months later it lays you out again? So confused. And the doctors know nothing.

      Hi Lisa,

oh no, I'm so sorry that's happened, I found it so demoralising when my symptoms used to come back, out of no where, and it's even hard to know whether it's something you've done, like the reflexology or if it was going to happen anyway?!

im on my 6th good week and I'm praying symptoms don't come back....it is getting better all the time, I know what you mean though, can do lots of tasks but not quite normal yet,.... I have this new ache- when I know I've done a lot, the middle of my back feels a bit weak and aches a little, I need to rest and it goes away.

I hope your symptoms pass quickly for you, the problem is, you just have in idea when it goes again😬

      Fingers crossed

      Caroline xx

Yes it is!! I think the only way to cope is to be able to know what to expect. I do this and that happens. But when we don’t know why the relapses happen it’s maddening. So frustrating. But I hope it’s shorter lived. My daughter and son have colds and I could be coming down with one as well. Maybe the mono acts up when another virus invades?

IM SO HAPPY YOU FEEL GOOD!!!!! It’s the best news ever! Have you been able to exercise yet? Or go on long walks?

      Hi Lisa,

i manage the school run, dog walk 30-40 mins, shopping, cleaning, cooking but no excercise classes yet. It really is a massive improvement and 6 weeks feeling good is real promise.... This started in January,at about 12  months for me..... I did have 3 good weeks in November and I thought this is it, but it went wonky donkey in December!!

Yes, maybe colds could effect you too. I've stopped taking all my vitamins now too.

And I can’t friggen wait to stop taking all these supplements! Haha! Thanks Caroline. I’m so so happy for you. I did a shoutout to all you guys on my twitter page. I know that none of us have met in person but it still feels like a family.

Hi everyone hope all is well. Quick question. Did/does anyone have chest pain
  • Posted

Hi Christy, yes! I have it some days that runs down my arm and worryingly on the left side of my chest. I also have a weird pain in my leg like when you bend down to put your socks on , and today also pain in my finger! It’s so odd what this virus can do. Try not to worry 😊

      Hey Christy / Ashley,

I had some kind of chest / upper stomach pain during the virus, I think this can be normal due to the proximity of the glands, especially on the left hand side in the upper quadrant area from the stomach and the spleen is there with lots of glands I believe. It does cause all sorts of aches and pains Ashley, it's so hard not to worry I do understand, but I found over time that the virus does cause all sorts of weird pains and symptoms, and in most cases is usually is just the virus trying to do its worst.

But remember it won't succeed in the long run - thinking about you both and still totally believing in your recovery Christy and your recovery Ashley. I know you guys have been through such a rough time over a long period, but you WILL get through this - you really truly will - hang in there and just take it slowly one step at a time and be kind to yourself (you deserve that for what you've been through).
