More Pain Caused Trying To Stop Tendonitis

I'm very annoyed that at almost 8 weeks post op my pain is increasing in my new hip because I have to wear a boot on my OTHER foot to stop the tendonitis in that foot. It's one of those big, bulky boots with Velcro straps and a hard bottom that keeps my foot flat. I could live with it if it didn't make my legs so uneven, even with a shoe of equal height on my left foot. It causes me to limp to the point that my left hip twists and moves unnaturally with every step I take. It's causing more pain in the hip and I'm afraid it's not going to heal properly if I keep walking on it.

Has anyone dealt with anything similar or have any suggestions about how to make it easier for the next 5 weeks that I have to wear the boot?

Cindy, I think you are right in so many ways. I went to a pre op group organised by the hospital but where is the post op group? We are sent off into the blue yonder alone to get on with it. The surgeon and the entire system treats the process like having a clutch replacement on a car.I became very angry with my family doctor when he said that hip arthritis is "a wear and tear" matter. As though we have so many miles in us and then we're done. It's rubbish. How come the postman who is the same age as me and walks several miles every day does not have hip problems? I once asked a surgeon had he noticed any common themes or issues emotionally or otherwise in joint replacement patients? Of course he looked at me blank. I am convinced there is something else going on. On a forum like this one does not want too much as it's public and I don't want to off load on people who need encouragement and information. Because let's face it, what alternative do we have when faced with the pain and disability of hip pain but to have a replacement? One is led on by the stories of marathons run or other feats of strength but I struggle to comfortably walk a mile. They are just not the same as the real healthy thing. And I am aware that I am on borrowed time. Interestingly since having the two replacement s I have very much changed my emotional response to other people and to life in general. Is it a coincidence? I think not. I would be very interested to hear anything else you have to add.
