More pain recently!

my pain has gone through the roof over the last few weeks. It's everywhere, hands, wrists, shoulders, hips, feet, neck, lower back to name just a few! My hands are probably caused by a double crush the Rheumatoligst said ie nerves in neck and wrist are being crushed although we've changed it to squished, her idea, it doesn't sound so bad. Pain in my neck is from the damage there, lower back from the damage there, everything else from FM! Been referred for nerve conduction tests and to the pain clinic. I've been to the pain clinic before many years ago but there could be new things I haven't tried. I am just so sick of the pain, its relentless, nothing seems to ease it. I take so many pain tablets of various types I'm surprised anything gets through. I need to lose weight, I eat very little and it's low fat but I can't exercise, I walk my dog but don't get up much speed so that doesn't help and it's such an effort getting out there. I'm always so tired too, I'm struggling to stay awake now. I try to stay positive but today I'm positive I'm sick of all this pain!!!

moan over, thank you for listening

    Hi Shelag.

So sorry you’re in such pain!

From all that you're saying I've got a suspicion: food intolerances.  Wheat maybe??

On the other hand if on a functional level your Rheumatologist says the nerves in neck and wrist are being crushed then my suggestion is to have an appointment with as Osteopath.

A good one can put back in place whatever is crushing the nerves. I had that experience recently with the great trochanter (hip muscle).  Does any of this makes sense to you ?

    X T.

To Christine and all others;  I have read so many of you typing re "muscle spasm"...which I went through too....but  have any of you tried taking some valium (or something similar) for this problem?  I take 7.5mgms at night, and do feel so much better (I also wear Tubi-grip/TED stockings to bed for my legs..increases the blood supply to legs/arms).  The valium also helps with the Muscle Tightness, helps to relax the muscles, which tighten up after  doing anything......perhaps it is worth you trying this along with other meds???      Bron

Sounds good Bron but I don't think our doctors would prescribe Valium. I drink Tonic water, it helps most of the time with the spasms. The stockings sound like a good idea, are they compression stockings like the ones for flying? I have a friend who's had a knee replacement and is suffering from calf cramps she could try the stockings if all the other things don't work.

Hi bron..,I have Valium. I take when it's really bad...it's sooo helps, I only take it when I'm bad...as I feel it's soo addictive..but it really works..,grr but isn't  that case with anything that helps us..grrrr...I have about 3 boxes a year it's only 5 mg ..but it does the trick...have a lovely day..brr...frosty here this morning....be blessed..:-) xxx

me again; have you also tried taking Magnesium in tablet form....I find this also helps....the spasms are not soooo bad, when you get more into your system (it took me nearly a bottle to get it into my system, but now do feel the positive effects ).....Bron
