Morning anxiety

Hi, I suffer from morning anxiety my dr started me on Lexapro 10 mg 4 days ago and I feel it has been worse my heart is racing the minute I wake up. It’s hard to get my day started I have to take a xanex to be able to function. Will this get better???

    I know exactly what you are feeling. I am on day 11 of Lexapro 10mg and feel the same way. I’m shaky all day long , can’t eat, and morning anxiety is when it’s the worst for me. I’ll say at day 11 now, I have a few days here n there where it’s a little better than it was. But then I’ll have a bad day happen and think it’s never going to ease up.  Since I’m still struggling myself I can’t offer advice as to when it gets better, but I’m hoping by 2 weeks. Hang in there. You’re not alone.

      Thank you very much for your response. I do feel so alone and wish this feeling would just go away. I will hang in there hope it gets better soon and good luck too you as well it’s not easy.

    HI if I was you would cut through dose down to 5mg, to see how you feel, I am day 6 , and half a 5mg tablet plus 7.5 of mitazapine,

      Thank you for you response I did think of trying half and see how it works. Do you think taking it in the morning is better or at night?? My anxiety is worse right when I wake up.

    hi.. i was moved from 5mg to 10mg to 15mg and it has been 12 days.. and yes the anxiety and feeling sick is what i was going thu..  had to take xanax to calm down..  it takes a while for these side affects to go away,.   it is a terrible feeling.   but i am starting to feel less sick as my dose is taking affect.. i am still trying to get use to the 15mg.   the morning is the worse.   i have to take xanax .1 every 5-6hrs when i started lexapro.  i wasn;t doing that but when i started a new mg i would have to start all over again,.. so i am going to stay at 15mg til it stops..  i know you can;t eat. you cant do alot..  but i am going to stick with the 15mg so my body gets use to it..  only 4 days is just the beginning..  you have to let the meds do its job..  at least 4-6 weeks.. just remember every time you switch meds you will feel the same.. so hope you feel a difference before the 4-6 weeks. Decaf drinks only!!!!!!!!! i drank and still do drink different teas like yogi kave stress relief and chamomile herbal teas...   i take my med around 6am every morning. some people take it at night..  it is a rough road for a while but if this is a good med to be on.. but and all of these meds have the same side affects until you get use to it.   MAKE SURE U EAT!!!!!!!  cause if you don;t eat you get shaky anyway.. so eat!!!!  you will get tru this..   i am still working with it.. takes time...   not a quick fix..   Melatonin otc works too for sleep..  let me know how you are doing and maybe i can help u with it..

      Thank you so much for the info I was wondering if 10 mg was too much because I feel awful and my anxiety feels worse. I know 4 days is not long enough I just want some relief. I try to take it at night to see if it works better but so far no luck. I have to force myself to eat I have no appetite at all. I will keep in touch thank you!

      i will be more then happy to help.. the best way i can.. did you ask your doctor for anything for the anxiety?  something different then what u are on.. ?   i was only on 5mg for 4 days.. then moved me because the anxity was so bad. then moved up from there..........  you feel like you are so out of control.. i hate that.. tomorrow is another day.. the longer you are on 10mg the easier it will get.. but ask your doctor to help you with the anxiety meds..  first.. do not go down on the lexapro..  keep me posted cause i feel like once the meds are right ..WE WILL BE GOOD TO GO..  YOU HAVE ALOT OF WEEKS TO GO.. HANG IN THERE.. if you want to privite message me you can...  i will write more later..   keep in touch...

    I STARTED LEXIPRO ALMOST A YEAR AGO,10mg..I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL RECENTLY WHEN EVERYTHING HIT AT ONCE..I AM NOW ON 1mg OF ADIVAN TWICE A DAY AND I AM COOL TO GO..A FEW DAYS AGO I WAS SO DEPRESSED I HAD TO GO TO URGENT CARE.THANK GOD I FOUND THIS ANGEL WHO TOOK GREAT CARE AND FELT FOR ME AND HOOKED ME UP.I WAS ALONE AND IN GREAT DISPARE.

      How long did it take for the Lexapro to start working for you?? Did you have any side effects? How long do the side effects last? I do get depressed as well cause I feel like it’s never going to get better😔

    Hi Georgia, I can’t offer advise but I can say I’m about to start 5mg my doctor said taking it with diazapam say 5mg a day for 14 days can lessen the side effects of that helps. But ask your doctor if he can give some diazapam and use when needed.

      To All... Yes this is the side effects of Lexapro and each time u up your dose it takes time for your body to catch up ... It's not a Happy time but better days will come... It's just so hard right now.. I have a flat and sad feeling .. Feel very alone.. Aniexty and panic out of the blue and just not feeling well but this to shall pass.. But no joke it's very hard.. Everyone have a Blest Day.. 🤗💞😇

      thank you..  you said it right on...  i am on 15mg now for 12 days and i still feel like you do..   it shall pass..   i am counting on it... thank you again.... you also have a blest Day.lol
