Mortons Neuroma

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had surgery 9 days ago to remove 2 neuromas in my left foot.  It is still very painful and I eventually went back to the dressing clinic yesterday to see if it was a problem with the dressing sticking to the wound.  On removing it it was found that one of my incisions had come apart and that I had an infection for which they gave me anti biotics.  Anyone else had this problem?

Thank you for your advice and I can't copy, there's people worse off than me. I hope your recovery continues in the right direction. You fed up with day time TV yet? Lol. X

      I'm in Essex.

Done quite a bit of Internet shopping too, boredom is dangerous!

Oh dear my last reply has to be moderated as I mentioned the charity shopping page that my friend and I run. It helps me to keep sane since I had to give up my midwifery career in 2007. Do you have any hobbies? Do you work? It's always difficult to have your daily life put on hold isn't it? X

Went back to my specialist yesterday and wasnt the news i wanted to hear. Because my neuroma was so large they are worried it will grow back. I cant wear normal shoes for a long time as i had a bit of damage done inside foot. Plus side the incision has healed well and nerve pain nearly gone. Heel boot is off unless walking long distances. Tried to put a shoe on and oh my it hurt. So slippers it is. I have chronic oedema so that puts more pressure on it.

But at least they are monitoring my foot regularly now, so thats a good thing.

    Hows your recovery going.

    How big was everyone else?

Oh I'm sorry to hear that Tanya. Have they said how long that will take to heal?

I had mine dressed again yesterday and the nurse was quite pleased with how it was healing (looked horrible to me). It is still weeping though.

I shall ask my surgeon how big mine were when I see him at 6week check up.
