Probably the thing I am dreading the most when I fnally get my THR done! I am a bender, twister, leapintoaction type person. I react on instinct and fear I will put my new hip out within a day of getting home!  No wonder my surgeon is laothe to do me! LOL

Your body will talk to you if it doesn't like what you are doing.....just be careful remember restrictions which aren't many and not for too long.

I'm sure we have all done something stupid like that.  It is how we learn.  Hope you are feeling ok now,

Yes, sue as I was saying before I was moderated, it's nature's way of protecting us.

My worst ever pain pre-op was when my dog yanked me backwards on his lead. It was  totally unexpected. I was in so much pain I felt sick and could hardly get in the car to go home.

      Hope you are OK now,

      Hi sue,

Pleased to see I am not the only one who has the dog on the bed at  night.

Ours is a shih tzu crossed with a staffie. Lovely nature but evil towards male dogsfrown

I am OK thanks. Just did my lap around the estate where we live. Nice and dry for once.

Have a nice day (pain permitting)

I was like.. 1.5 days post op, in my hospital bed.  I woke up from a nice 3 hour snooze and just out of habit sat up and tried to swing my operated leg out of bed, which is across my right leg with a posterior approach.

I nearly passed out, and thought for sure I popped the darn thing out of its place, but it settled down pretty quick.  Definitely took the habit out of me and I am quite careful when I get out of bed now at 2 weeks post op yet. dumb dumb =)

rolleyes oh sue - not once darling, but twice now and probably will do more -

unbelievable right?     but so easy to do ...

instant manifestation too - oh well - as long as it is (awful-ish) pain and nothing else, we go back to couch, rest up and shuffle our way back to where we were ...

next time, just let puppy fall off the bed .... (awwww)

    big warm hug

and take it easy sweet sue

Just returned from a 1.25 mile hike with the one stick - I am ever conscious of how much pressure I am putting on my opposite shoulder (which has problems of it's own), so trying to not bear down on the stick too much whilst not stooping and walking upright.  Bit of a balancing act.

Glad you haven't done any permanent damage - a warning to us all to be careful though, so thanks for the posting.

      Regards
