So after convincing myself I had gone full blown insane I finally realised i was having panic attacks and looks like I may have GAD

I have realised this purely through speaking to people online such as yourselves and googling my symptoms

Whilst I am aware I need to go to a doctor my problems are these;

I am very anxious about going to the doctor and always have been (ironic I know)

but also I have no idea how he can help me and i fear by going i may start something i cant stop

my job is very demanding

I work 7 days a week and 80 to 100 hours a week

This has almost certaintly what has made my anxiety go through the roof

however I have to stick this out for the next 3 months at least

So my issue is not noyl cannot i not get time off to get myself diagnosed properly and help given but i will not be able to follow up any appointments or accept treatment as i cannot take time of work

However i cannot go on like this

is there anything i can do or take that will tide me over the next 3 motnhs that will stop the attacks and reduce my symptoms?? my symptoms include, shortness of breath, feeling dizzy, tingling, lack of sleep due to worrying, jump starting awake, constant butterflies in my stomach and emotional breakdowns

Anything to help will be appreciated

I have recently started taking Kalms tablets. They ate herbal and you take 2 tablets, 3 times a day. They do seem to help me a little.

Hi charlie. I was in the same boat as you. I couldn't take time off work as its my own business. But it got to the point I was breaking down in work. I had all they symptoms you have. In the end I had to go the docs. I had to make time. He put me on a low dose of tablets. So my advice to u is make time to go the docs. Your health is more important. You could try some realax techniques. But you should go the docs. X

    Hope you feel better soon.

Thing is I can probably go once, but im worried i will havr to keep going back for various reasons and if i get meds i wont be able to take them as by the looks of things they have a strong reaction so i wont be able to take them if they prevent me from working, how did you get around this?

I was worried about all this. I had what ifs goin round my head all the time. When I went to the docs. They gave me 1 months worth of tablets. he wanted to see me again just before they run out. So I made an appointment before I left. For the latest they had. An I made sure I marked myself out in work. I also explained my situation to the people in work. That for me was hardest part. Yes the tablets did have side effects. But for ME they wernt horrendous. They were a pain in the bum. But once people new what I was goin through. That made it abit easyer. I read up loads on the side effects. An u find 9 times out of 10 people only Wright about bad experience. it was the best thing I ever did go the docs. Cos once I started to get better I realised. Iv felt sh*t for months. I'm back on my tabs now but that's abother story hahaha. I'm sorry for rambeling. An I'm sorry I can't spell. But i really think you should go coz I no how bad I felt an I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Xx

      Thank you

What side effects did you have? I know its different for everyone but ive never had medication for anything before i bearly even take paracetemol lol

I can't tell my boss or the people i work with about it so if i can cover it up then that will be okay they can all ready tell something is wrong as I can't cover up what im going through now and I'm having to lie to people which is casuing me more anxiety!

Reading what you Wright is like reading about me. Hahaha. The side affects were feeling sick of a morning. Felt very tired by end of the day. An head ace. Off my food for a few days. But they don't last long. Restless legs of a night. Nothing that stoped me from working. I was so frightend to take the 1st table. But once I took it an realised nothin terrible was goin to happen I was ok. An someone made me feel better by saying if u had asthma u would take your inhaler. Which made sence so I took it.

The symptoms you are showing is your bodies way of saying its time for you to slow down. I too used to work excessive hours and believe me it did not do me any good. you could try some phenargan which has anti anxiety properties or buy some valerian from the health food shop but I am afraid the real solution would be for you to chill and give yourself a break. Hope things work out for you.

Yes I agree and have decided to step down however I have to carry on for 3 months then I can chill and get treated properly

      Thank you for the advice!

I agree with Sally, you must go to the doctors. I ended up being hospitilised with a full nervous breakdown simply due to the fact that i worked such long hours. I was not sleeping, eating, or looking after myself. No job is worth more than your health so please, please make time to see your gp.

you are probably overtired and on the edge of a breakdown if not anxiety problems.

anti anxieties may help but really you need sleep.

I am on low (2mg) Valium, which I take around 3-6 of around once a month, when work stress gets too much and I need a few hours of downtime to catch my breath and chill. I wish that was all I took, but I left mine a bit too long, and running my business 24/7 became far too much, and I ended up having a nervous breakdown and rather than just getting those to temporarily take away my anxiety, to help me catch my breath and regroup, I started Mirtazapine (antidepressant) too, which I regret, and that hasn't helped, it's made me sluggish and fat. But the mild Valium does help, and you can still work, and just take it in your non-work hours to chill. It is addictive, so isn't for every day use, but sometimes it's good just to be able to relax a bit once a week or so. Also I did CBT, and they can do it over the phone, so if you can take 1 hour for a phone call per week, that can help too.

No idea if that helps. Just my experience after working myself way too hard for too long. Anyway, we're all here if you need to talk. I don't know what you're thinking of taking, and what side effects in particular you're worried about, so any more info on that may get you more specific advice.
