Muscle Twitches

Hi, everyone over the last 3 months or so I have been getting more and more muscle twitches.  I know this can be a common symptom, does anyone else get these.  My G.P. has prescribed Baclofen, does anyone else take this and does it work, or do you know of anything better.

Many thanks in advance

Tina

hi Tina;  no I havn't tried Baclofen, but would be very interested to know if it does help, as I now take Valium and magnesium....but if one less tab can work, then yes, let me know.  Thanks.   bron

      Hi Bronwyn,

I will keep you posted, but after only a few days my twitches do not seem so bad, so fingers crossed.  Tx

Thankyou for that...sounds promising...if it continues to improve; I am going to see if available in Austalia, and if so, will ask for same...Bron

Oh, yeah, I twitch.  I twitch especially in bed prior to going to sleep.  It is mostly in my arms and legs.  I don't take anything for it.  Sometimes the twitching wakes me up from sleep, but I just flip over and go back to sleep.  I don't think my twitching is nearly as bad as yours.  I would consider twitching a minor problem in my life compared to some of the other things this disease has given me.  I hope you find something that will work for you so that you feel better.

Thanks Ravenwood.  Know what you mean twitching is minor compared to other things this horrible disease can give you.  It only started really bad a few months ago and as I don't sleep well anyway it has become an issue.  The baclofen seems to be working though, so fingers crossed. Tx

The bad part of twitching is the chronically broken sleep of both wife and self. My wife still remembers the years of twitching with abhorrence. I hardly remember anything from those years although twitching is one of the things I do remember. They were not the sweet little movements you see in babies but quite gross jerks.

Hi Tina, I too have muscle twitches, mainly on my right side. They aren't minor and very noticeable. I also feel that thT my muscles are vibrating, which i don't like at all. I take diazepam if I can't sleep because of the twitching or buzzing muscles. I do take magnesium too and vitamin B5

      Hi Mary

Just got your post through re twitching. For some strange reason I only get the odd message through these days. Anyhow, on the thread of twitching, yes, I've persistent twitching. I explained it to someone as like an orchestra playing on my muscles.  The twitching starts on my upper arms and continue down my arm untill they finish on my fingers only to stary all over again.  My friend once asked why my arm was twitching like an orchestra..........I explained it was one of the monor symptoms of my condition.................
