Hi.well seen the tummy specialist, not much help ,says it's common for premium children to get this he has seen a lot of premium children with it she will grow out of it.if it starts to effect her weight there is a op he can do they turn the tummy the other way it's a massive op it's only done as a last resort. I don't want her to have the op..says stress can make her sick ect. Bit disheartening thought he was going help us.

Helen, Jess and Isobe, It’s the middle of the night and I am up with my 8year old who has starting doing the same thing during the day.  I am so grateful to you for sharing your ongoing experiences.  Before I found this site I was feeling hopeless at not being able to help my daughter.   It gets so bad her chest hurts and now her throat is causing a ton of pain.  She was a premie of 34 week’s  but also born without esophagus attached to stomach.  It’s been fixed and you’d never know now.  She was diagnosed with the worst acid reflux a child could get.  We had AR under control with HCL w/ Pepsin but she recently got pneumonia and had to take antibiotic Azythromycin.  I am going to try probiotics starting tomorrow hoping that gets her stomach back on track.  But I’m also going to continue to keep up with this feed.  Our insurance pays nothing till we meet our deductible so it’s not so easy for me to take her in.  I appreciate all your info. and will keep your children in my thoughts.

Still not really the answer or a solution 😟 you we’re looking for.  Just the hope she may grow out of it.

My daughter was also premature born at 33 weeks with no medical problems.  X

Hi. Aww poor thing. My little one was 29 weeks prem. It broke my heart when tummy specialist said he sees this in a lot of prem children I thought he would help her not give me something else to blame myself for. I have found gaviscon a great help but had to have a fight with peds to get them to agree for my daughter to have it as she's under 12. I will suggest u may want to look at her diet as I have took my daughter to a private food allergy therapist as docs refused to help. Found she can't eat dairy, maize, corn. She's gone from being sick 40 times to about 1-10 times a day. Keep in touch xx

And she can't eat anything that has no added sugar written on it its a ingredient E420. It's in medicine too.

Hi Helen, Jess and Isobe and any one else going through this. My daughter is 11 and has had this for 2 and half weeks now, for first 2 weeks she basically through up anything she ate, plain foods, like rice, crackers etc. Even a spoonful would come up. Doc prescribed anti sickness, did not work, she has also been prescribed omneprazole which i think may be helping slightly. Liquids stay down ok and last few days smoothies (hooray) but any food of substance will come back up, its an improvement from the first 2 weeks, as in she is eating more (starved) and not all coming back up. She is just so fed up and wants to feel normal again and eat normally. I also am thinking now it is regurgitation rather than vomit, its within minutes of swallowing. I came across something called rumination syndrome which is fairly common, there is a fb support page, they recommend diaphragm breathing. Was meant to be back at hospital today but its been cancelled due to covid 19 so we will just have to see how she gets on with the omneprazole. I am just wondering if any of you got any answers to your childrens issue? i hope you have and they are improving. Many thanks Geraldine.

      Hi

Feel Yr pain hun.. Its been nearly 3 yrs now for my daughter. She's had all the tests done. Scans xrays. Nothing showed up.. Some doctors say stress, other says constipation. I agree to reflux as I can hear it. Gavisgon is helping. But I have ruled it down to food allergies. Doctors wouldn't test. I took her to a private food allergies therapist. Docs said don't listen to her. But thanks to her my daughter has stopped throwing up 40 times a day now she can go a few days without being sick. She's can't have mazie, milk, sorbitol (which is anything that is sugar free). She did have a problem with eggs and yeast too but luckily we r OK with that now.... Has Yr daughter had a bug or anything as this can set all this off..?

my daughter was being emotionally bullied by her 'so called' best friend. she had weeks of councelling to discover this was the problem. we moved her away from her. we stopped medication, changed to a much better school and we have our funny, confident, happy girl back. we were all so convinced her problem was physical. explore other avenues. i really hope you get solutions too.

    well wishes x
