My frozen shoulder has come back again. Did yours?

Hello,

Looking for some advice as I can't believe it's happening again.

Had a frozen shoulder last year which ended with a cortisone injection just before Christmas. Thankfully it worked.

However over the last 10 days those horrible familiar movement restrictions and pain are coming back. It really is coming back. Has this happened to anyone else? Can I stop it or do anything to help?

Here's hoping.

Cortisone may help temporarily with inflammation but will do nothing to reduce scar tissue. If you have not started physical therapy again you need to do that immediately. Home exercises are great however your brain is not going to allow you to inflict that extreme pain that you get when you are being stretched by a therapist. That is the main reason why we go to see our therapist so they can manipulate the joint and break up the scar tissue. Sometimes regardless of how much therapy you have or even if you have manipulation surgery it’s still not enough and they might have to go in and surgically remove scar tissue.

Luckily I caught it in my right shoulder in the first stages of it wanting to freeze and I started therapy immediately. Now I just do my stretches at home and I’m at about 90% movement in my left shoulder and 75 to 80% movement in my right.

    Hope this helps.
