PLEASE HELP......My 6 year old son developed molluscum about 6 months ago. We noticed some bumps on his chin.Eventually diagnosed by a Dr as molluscum.

His chin is now compleatly covered in these spots,he also has them under his chin, neck and in his eyebrows. He is so self concious of them and it is devestating to hear him call himself a alien, and that he hates himself

We have tried Zymaderm oil and face wash (made no difference at all)

Silver Water (useless) Tea Tree and Which hazel oil ( no change) and are now using cider vinegar, which we hope can help.

We want these horrible things to go so we can have our happy boy back again. If anyone has any suggestions we would be so gratefull.

Many Thanks

Amy and Elliott

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear what you and your son are going through. This virus is absolutely heartbreaking and I wish it didn't exist.

I came across a post on the internet where a woman was applying hydrogen peroxide with a q-tip on the lesions up to 4x a day, and the peroxide dried them out from the inside.

I've been trying this method and have been seeing results. I am not free of molluscom yet, however, I am seeing an improvement. I will keep you updated.

I am praying for you and your son and everyone else with this awful virus. I truly feel your pain. I will keep you updated

    Regards

    Sarah

My Son has had this for over a year and a half now and it's absolutely heartbreaking. The majority of them are on his face and now they have spread all over his body sad I just don't know what to do , doctors are absolutely useless and say they will eventually go ! I just want them gone asap it's horrid as everyone stares at him because of it and it's ruining his beautiful littl face. If anyone can help me with remedies please let me know smile

      Hey Katie

I'm with you on heartbreaking this horrible virus has upset me so much it's awful. I have bought some good vitamins using thuja 30c once a day usually as my son wakes up and using molludab which burns but is necessary twice a day. He has spots that look infected all over his face he's such a lovely looking boy it's breaking my heart I hope it clears up soon. The molludab kills the spots before they start growing. Once inflamed stop using. I can't believe the NHS have turned their back on us with this condition. It's so awful my heart go's out to all coping with this dreadful virus. I am scared of scaring.

      Hi Samantha,

Have you found any of them are working at all ? I am going to speak to my doctors once again this week and demand to see a dermatologist ! How old is your little boy ? Does his itch his at all ?

      Hey Katie

My son is 9 years old. It does work it's got rid of the spots he had on his back but more come up so I just keeping using tht molludab. If your in the UK you have to buy it from the pharmacist they won't fund it on NHS. It's about 23 quid for a little bottle. I'm scared his skin will be so scared but the alternative is just to do nothing and let them sit on the skin! It's so heartbreaking my poor sons face it makes me feel so so so sad. Are u in the UK? If so let me know how you get on with a referral as far as I know there is no funding for children it's all to do with money. I might pay to see a dermatologist it's so horrible we have no help with this condition .

All I pray is it goes away quickly.

      How old is your son?

      Hi Katie,

Just wondering how you got on and if you got a referral?

I'm panicking with my 6yr old daughters condition as it just keeps getting worse. We are trying Molludab which does make them go red, but new ones are appearing so quickly and I'm scared it will go to her face. Some of them are quite a mess.

I just don't know where to turn and I'm at my wits end!

      Hi Ian,

Yes it is awful isn't it ! Unfortunately my son has them all over his face and it breaks my heart.

Regarding the referral to the dermatologist, yes we have finally been referred !

I called up to book the appointment last week to be told it is a 23 week waiting list !! So no appointment could be made I have to wait for a phone call around 4/5 weeks before the 23 weeks is up to book one. It's terrible, I am thinking of maybe even going private now.

If you want to get your daughter referred to the dermatologist then you need to call/visit the doctors and just basically not take no for an answer. It's such an awful condition and doctors just turn a blind eye to it sad
