My update - positive

Evening all,
I doubt anyone will remember me but thought I would share my experience and recent findings on my constant pain for the last 2 and a half years.
My symptoms are: burning pain after urinating, painful after ejaculation, 'dribbling', testiclular pain and on and off clear discharge.
Treatment and tests: numerous blood, semen and urine tests (NHS). Two cyscopopies (sorry for spelling). CT Scans and MRI scan. Sexual Health checks all clear. I have had three Urology specialists on the NHS...this was due to me asking for second and third opinions as I was fed up being told 'it is all in my head' and 'we are completely at a blank as to what this is and how we can help'. I have paid over £300 on private tests for Garnerella, Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma at Harley Street which came back clear.
Today I have had a break through of sorts which left me very confused but equally over the moon. I paid to have a Urine test completed privately - today the test came back positive for Enterococcus faecalis. Apparently this is a bacteria found in the intestine but if escapes into the urethra or prostate causes big issues e.g.. what I have been going through for 2 and half years. It's the first bit of hope I have had in the last 2 and half years.
I am confused as to why the countless tests through the NHS didn't pick this up? It made me think of all of the British sufferers on this site and the possibility their symptoms are being missed.
Has anyone had any experience of Enterococcus faecalis? Any info?
Thank you in advance
Danny

Hi,
I do hope it's your problem. However I would use caution, urine, semen and prostate fluid tests need to be consistent on 2 or more to be sure it was not contaminated during collection. The other possibility is the pathogen is not the offending pathogen. Have you taken abx over the last two years and if so, was the staph E sensitive to them? Pain after urinating is also my symptoms and feel its non bacterial prostatitis. I am exploring SI joint dysfunction and purdendal nerve entrapment. Good luck.
