My wife needs abdominal help

Starting in October of 2016 she would tell me she felt like her ovaries are trying to claw their way out just before her period, as soon as the flow started pain was gone. November was the same. December was the same except for December was spotting not really any flow. January 2017 started with upper right side abdominal pain and swelling and no period. Pain and swelling continued into February. Now we're in March and still pain and swelling and no answers. In addition to the pain and swelling in the upper right, she says sex is very painful but only on the right side of the vaginal canal( same with obgyn pelvic exam) we've been through countless blood tests, cat scans, ultra sounds, hidascans, EGD scope(upper GI) x-rays, and now exploratory laparoscopy. Doctors are all saying everything looks just as it should. Obgyn wants to treat with birth control pill, shot, or iud. The pill enduces sever depression and anxiety for her and she had the copper iud for a few months a while back and would bleed for 3 out of 4 weeks every month. So we don't want to go any of those routes. We need answers soon we're both going nuts!!! Any of you ladies have anything similar or the same and successful answers? We would greatly appreciate some input

When the ovary releases an ovum (Egg) it can be painful sometimes and can be felt, but not to the extent it would swell like that and be painful..hmmm is a mystery..

As describef for thyroid-simulating hormone, LH and FSH are large glycoproteins composed of alpha and beta subunits. The alpha subunit is identical in all three of these anterior pituitary hormones, while the beta subunit is unique and endows each hormone with the ability to bind its own receptor.
Have they checked her Pituitary Gland for any tumours.

She will need to get her ovaries checked with a Ob-gyn, cause sometimes there's ovarian torsions, cysts or tumors that can cause her symptoms.

Or that your wife may have an infection if the IUD was removed
Then contracted an womb infection whilst having the IUD removed?
Has your wife been on any broad spectrum Antibiotics at all?

I'm not sure if my first reply showed up or not lol
She was on an antibiotic a short while ago for a substantial uti but not sure how broad spectrum it was.
Reading on the PCOS reminded me that the ultrasound tech said her right ovary is higher and larger than the left and does have cysts on it, also mentioned something on the uterus but the gynecologist didn't seem to be bothered by that and also said that one ovary or the other develops cysts every month as part of a normal cycle. Thank you for your help!!!

You could just do a google search; that's what I did. I can't mention the site I used because I got moderated.

If birth control is causing severe depression and anxiety, it really isn't worth while taking. These medications are only exchanging one nasty side effect for another. I think you need to get a second opinion on this and ask to see someone who can offfer a natural solution

Again I apologize for the extremely delayed response time. But I do greatly appreciate your response and your input. Before our kids were born any hormonal birth control would spike anxiety and depression big time. We voiced that concern with the gynecologist and he didn't seem concerned at all. We are cute searching for a different reputable D.O. Gynecologist in our area to hopefully get some better input out of!

You are doing the right thing in trying to see a different specialist. Doctors should be listening to your concerns, However, you don't have to take medications if they are not agreeing with you. Good luck with finding someone more suitable!
