Nasal cauterisation issues

Yesterday I had nasal cautery for recurrent nosebleeds. I wasn't told about the ache/pain I would get afterwards in my teeth and jawbone, nor about the continous dripping from my nostril. It's still there today over 24 hours later. I think it was the anaesthetic that has caused this by somehow affecting the nerves of the face and teeth. Does anyone know what anaesthetic they would have used? Has anyone had similar problems after cautery? How long can I expect these issues to last? Also, to top things off, I had no aftercare advice!

Hi there, I had a turbinate coblation done a week ago (cauterisation of the inferior turbinate). My teeth were a bit sore after but i had just thought this was related to the anaesthetic and the breathing tube banging off my teeth. I have suffered for years with post nasal drip and swollen turbinates and even though I am still healing and nose is a bit stuffy I can tell that the surgery has been a success as I can definitely breathe better and my post nasal drip has dried up so much. I am finding using Sterimar saline solution twice a day and then Otrivine for sinuses twice a day has been brilliant and helping with the stuffiness. The saline and Otrivine were recommended as part of my after care. I hope this helps and that you feel better soon. For me this surgery has so far been lifechanging as my voice was constantly hoarse due to post nasal drip and i was always coughing.
