Natural remedies

Posted , 19 users are following.

Hi there all,

I was hoping to start a place where we could list all the natural remedies (for peri and meno) we have tried and had success with. There are so many of us suffering so many awful symptoms, it would be nice if we could actually get some natural relief. I mean ANYTHING you have to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Also if you add the symptoms that were helped by the remedy that would be great. Thank you all in advance.

Valerian for sleep  -  2 dropperful

will be posting more later...yep there are soooo many

I'm one of the unfortunate ones who has vivid dreams with Valerian. I have found if I drink it as a tea that it's better though. So any other ladies who experience the awful dreams could maybe try a different variation and see how you go. The Essential oil worked okay too, but boy does it stink! A bit of a hubby repellent hahaha. Can't wait to hear your other remedies, thank you!!

    Hi

After extensive research I am trying Ashwanghanda, one of a few natural supplements that have had some clinical trials. Purest form is best but only available online now.

Yes! have heard that it is good. There is a small amount of it in a supplement that I take for anxiety (probably not enough to make much of a difference though). Please let us know how you go with it?

Magnesium oil for aches and sleep also I have a buckwheat pillow and it’s worked wonders for my neck pain x

Ohhh I love the idea of a buckwheat pillow. Thank you! Going to Google it right now. I had tried a magnesium oil for period pain, no luck unfortunately. I have ordered a different brand on line to try on the fibromyalgia pain, fingers crossed.

    Hi ladies

Menopace plus botanicals has helped ease the extreme tiredness, dizziness and palpitations also eased the anxiety and depression which is not as severe as it was. I also take vit c, magnesium, vit d, b complex, but his morning I have woken up feeling really awful, nauseous, aching stiff legs, headache, my gums are swollen I have taken medication I am hoping it will wear off f soon as I  really wanted to get out and enjoy the day and weather.

I still cannot believe there is nowhere to meet talk and comfort each other as I don't want to keep burdening my friends and family with my problems also they don't really understand so I feel like I am boring everyone. Thank goodness for this forum.

I know how you feel!! It is aweful!! I have health anxiety and have been having hip and leg aches for sometime now.  It’s been effecting my life!! I want to enjoy my family!! I have been using topical progesterone cream for about a month and it seems to be helping some with the symptoms! Hope you feel better and get to enjoy your day! I thank God for this forum!!  Xo

I feel the same way. I feel like it's all consuming and all I talk about anymore. No one I know is going through it, my husband doesn't really get it and just wants it over with (me too obviously). So just feel like I'm a bore. It's very lonely at times.

Janet... the way you're feel totally mirrors me. Exactly. I feel I can't keep going on about it to friends & family either as I think they're now possibly thinking 'Here she goes! Same old...' 😕

I take HRT but have had (and still having) probs but also take multi vits, vitamin b complex, cod liver oil and vit d. The cod liver oil I take as a liquid as apparently it isn't well absorbed by the body in capsule form (?) but I take the orange flavour as can't tolerate the taste of original!!

Wondering if I need more magnesium but I just seen to take so much I'll rattle soon!

      😔

      Brittany,

Do you mind me asking what topical form of progesterone you use as I'm having hellish probs with that side of my HRT and have now tried 3 types... the current type seems to make me so tired.

Anyway, sorry to ask on this thread as I know it's supplements etc but I'm so desperate... feel like I'm going mad and I just can't cope much longer... 😢

They deleted my comment for some reason. Anyway I saw a professional who reccomends the book the happiness trap. I found it quite helpful. And the man who wrote it also has a site where you can read the first chapter for free to dicede if it may be helpful to you. He also has some other helpful resources on there. The other thing she reccomends is mindfulness meditation. Health anxiety is so awful but these things have really helped me, I hope they can you too. My heart goes out to you xx

No don't be sorry! Any way we can help each other is important, natural or not. Finding an end to suffering is what's important.

I'm also very interested to hear if anyone has had any luck with topical natural progesterone creams too please?

Thank you for sharing!! I’m hoping mine will go away as fast as it came!! You have me hope!!! I know what you mean.. get rid of one thing and it’s replaced by another!!

I will let you know how I do with it!! Let me know how you do utrogestran. It that a prescription? The cream seems to have helped me with cramps and breast tenderness already!  so happy to have this thread!!! xo

      Hi there again...

Yes, utrogestran is prescription only but is supposed to be bio-identical.

So far I've been taking two capsules at night for around 12 days and I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow which is very unusual as it takes me ages to sleep, the downside is I find it very difficult to wake each morning and my head feels foggy for quite some time. I've also started spotting badly too so not great.  Not sure if it'll settle but I'm worrying as I feel pretty crap and the next time I use them I'll be on a busy holiday, lots of driving too - I'm terrified I won't cope!! Can't cancel either.

      Hi Brittay,

Wanted to check in with you to see if you are still having benefits from the progesterone?

I just started one as well that I bought on Amazon and even though it's only been 4 days  - I am starting to slowly see some changes.

Can I ask how often/amount you are using? Thanks so much! This group has been such a gift to me!
