Need help! Gas bloating weight loss malabsorption!

Hey guys if anyone has any ideas to what’s wrong that could help that would be excellent. Ok, I got gastritis from some ibuprofen last year and was put on ppi’s. During the ppi treatment I noticed my stool wasn’t normal so I stopped the ppi’s. Instead of getting better slowly over this past year it kept getting worse starting from Nausea after taking any supplements that progressed to really bad bloating no matter what I eat, and now to I lost 35 pounds and no matter what I eat can’t gain any weight. No matter what I do to my diet the bloating is permentent. I’ve never had a digestive issue in my life before those ppi’s. I wake up bloated and by the end of the day the more I eat the worse it gets, im not sure what those ppi’s did but it definently started this. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

    How old are you?

    Do you still have gastritis?

How long have you suffered from constipation?

Have younchanged your diet at all?

I’m 28 and literally before taking the ppi’s for mild gastritis have never in my life had any stomach issues.  I can still feel the gastritis so it’s not able to heal from whatever is going on now. And constipation started 3 weeks after being on ppi’s. Which was about 9 months ago. And yes I’ve changed my diet many times I get bloated no matter what, in fact I’m never not bloated wake up with it and by the time I’m sleeping I’m bloated. Like what could those ppi’s have done. Even if I take any supplement or fiber supplement il get extremely nauseas. So I can absorb anything whether it’s food or supplements ..

No never in my life I normally don’t even get stomach aches never mind everything going on.

I doubt the drug caused this tbh.

Apart from anything else - you would have expected it to get better if it was the drug that caused it.

It sounds like you have simple constipation / slow transit colon and that its causing bloating.

Try exercise. It increases colonic motility.

I have it doesn’t work, slow transit colon would cause me to lose 40 pounds? And be nauseas after taking anything. This has to be somthing more serious. I can’t stand up with out holding onto somthing I’m so dizzy. I was very healthy before this

I forgot about the weight loss. How old are you? Do you drink alcohol? Any blood in stool ever? What previous medical attention have you recieved for this?

I’m 28 and don’t drink alchohol , no blood in stool. My doctor thinks I might have somthing called sibo, which can be from ppi’s  . So I did the test and when I drank the solution my stomach got so bloated then the test was negative . But supposedly I did the test wrong I have no idea but that sibo makes a lot of sense with the gas bloating after eating and malabsorption. Who knows

      SIBO is a non-mainstrain diagnosis.

You’d need a brave doctor to diagnose that.

Have you had any other tests?

Yup everthing was negative , endoscopy colonoscopy blood work and mri so it’s not somthing structural maybe bacterial , I mean it’s a problem that has go worse over time, I’ve had to go into th hospital multiple times for ivs so this is crazy that no one can figure this out.

If they’ve done an MRI - they really have gone to town. Its difficult to know what can be added once they’ve scanned your whole tummy. There you are - you’re not dying.

Do ever get crampy abdominal pains?

Do you have problems with mood or tiredness? Theres a phenomenum called somatization.

No but I have one of the most severe autoimmune diseases,  auto immune ensephalopathy that flares from inflammation so that bloating flares my disease very badly to where I’m disabled that’s why I’m so concerned with figuring this issue out.

I was diagnosed when I was 15 but that doesn’t cause stomach issues , stomach issues will flare it though and inflammation or infection will flare it that’s why it’s important to figure out what is wrong with my stomach.

The rest of your health is important though if we’re trying to explain your weight loss.

Was this condition diagnosed by a neurologist?

Yes and immunologist also. But that’s not the reason for the weight loss and stomach issues and weight loss I usually don’t mention it because I don’t like to confuse people .

Well it’s autoimmune ensephalopathy and believe  it or not fixing the inflammation in my gut is the treatment, it reacts from inflammation

I’m afraid I doubt you’ll ever get an answer to this.

If you had malabsorption - you would expect diarrhoea not constipation.

I think you probably just have simple constipation. With regards to the weight loss - maybe you’re eating less because of the symptoms.
