Need some advice! Reoccurring fissures on perineum - herpes or yeast? Pics included!

Hi there,

I've been experiencing these fissure for a while now, they come every month or two sometimes with discharge and itching/discomfort. The sexual health clinic has not given me any good solutions - my Herpes test came back positive once for HSV1 and then negative a few times after, all the other STD's come back negative. I've tested positive for thrush multiple times and get treatment for that which helps sometimes but this current episode has lasted 11 days so far and the thrush medicine isn't easing my symptoms which is leading me to believe they are not related. Could they just be a side effect of the thrush or something else?

If anyone has any advice or has the same thing please comment as it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I have an iron deficiency and am on a mostly keto diet, not sure if that might be a contributing factor. I do as much as I can not to irritate my genitals as well - I use non-bio detergent, probiotics & vitamins daily, yogurt, pessaries, thrush cream, coconut oil, no over washing with soaps, etc.. kind of running out of options here and desperate for some long term relief as I would like to stop the reoccurrence.

Thanks!

have you had the gardisil shot done lately or have HPV? did you notice this start to happen after any significant event? i had a lot of stress last year and lost a lot of hair and my body started acting up. trying to find common trends

I'm experiencing similar for the past 6ish months and have tested postive for HPV 16 and another unknown strain on my cervix with hsil... have had a colop with no visible changes so my next appointment is in about 5 months. Interesting ive never connected the internal cervix with external skin issues but i guess it could be related? my gyno didnt seem at all concerned with anything externally despite me pointing out areas of patchy irritated skin on my vulva

Oh I know how frustrating this can be! Hopefully with more tests you can find an answer x

I have gotten loads of routine std checks which I assume included HPV but I'm not sure so I will need to check this and nope I've not had a gardisil shot done lately - should I arrange this with my doctor?? Also I cant really pinpoint when it started or if there is a trend arising when they appear but Im trying to keep better track of that now so I can hopefully see some sort of connection!

      Thanks x

i have been to the clinic today, and convinced it was just thrush and obviously its itchy and ive cut the skin from rubbing or something, ive got tiny cuts right on the bit of skin connecting both holes just like you! . to be honest he scared me, first he said it doesnt look like a herpes sore and then next he said it was most likely herpes because thrush and bv tests come back negative????but we wont know for two weeks until the test is back!!!! im freaking out, im positive its not herpes, im so worried!!!!
