Neuropathy

Since December I began to have tingling in my feet,  now it's horrible, burning, painful tingling,  feeling that my feet at wrapped around. Something, I mean it's horrific,  can barely drive,  I can manage with my left foot,  but the right foot the sensations are making me very anxious.  Emg was good, blood tests by neuro was fine,  biopsy for small fiber was fine, but I know I have some kind of neuropathy,  gabapentin did not help,  and so far lyrica is not working,  now I'm on duloxetine 30 mg daily,  any tips, help, please, I feel awful and very depressed.

Hi, know how much you hurt, so sorry. I am on duloxetinr 30 mg but take 3 tablets plus morophone 5mg up to 3 times a day. It is a strong medicine but at least it gives me some help to function. You may have to consider stronger meds. I have had every procedure there is plus a nevro implant and still need the extra meds. Thinking of you and hope you get the help you need. 🍀🌷

Thanks for caring,  I'm seeing another neurologist next week,  this one knows more about this condition.  I can't picture myself living with this horrible condition.  I try not to think about it but is affecting me.

Hi again,  you may want to ask for a nerve conduction test. That can pinpoint if you have nerve damage and where it is located. It is somewhat uncomfortable however way worth the info. You can actually hear if they find a nerve not functioning correctly. Joe, the hardest part of all of this situation is the depression and fear knowing you now have a new normal. (You may not) if so one thing that helped me is an article I read that gave this general message. YOU are not a WHIMP you are a WARRIOR fighting everyday, and night for your health! It is so true. Be aware you will go thru a mourning period for the loss of YOU. What helped me is an understanding husband plus I pulled on the courage my Grandmother, Mother a Father who have long passed. They still comfort me. After you find the reasons why and if it is going to be long term your health issue becomes PAIN! I am sending you my very best wishes. Best of luck Joe. Oh yeah, and it is ok cry and get mad, and hit a pillow every once in a while!! Sending some sunshine from Florida, USA 🌞??🌴🐬🌷

Peonygirl1 is absolutely right, Joe.  The nerve conduction test is uncomfortable but the only thing that finally allowed my diagnosis.  And yes your health issue becomes PAIN and how to manage it.  But it's normal to be angry and sad as well.  This is not fun stuff, but it can be fought!  Sending some sunshine too, from Arizona, USA,

Hm.. have you also been tested for HSV-2? That can manifest itself as nerve pain as well. Also, have you been to an allergist (could possibly be a gluten allergy)? Chiropractor (to check for herniated disc)?

No I haven't,  however I had immunoglobins G A M checked by the neurologist,  as well as a protein electro checked and came back normal, within the range.i read that if your immunoglobulin G is elevated could indicate a chronic infection in your body.
