Is anybody having problems with the new Benpali pen.  I have used four and three of them dont seem to work properly, when I remove pen after said time and second click all the liquid has not gone in and runs down my leg. I have reported this today, and was wondering if anybody else has the same problem.

Just done 2nd benepali in stomach. Ist week fine but def stings . 2nd week in stomach it didn't click twice I still held it and it stings still but couple of drops on stomach when done. Maybe I flinched not sure. So frustrating feels like such a waste and have to wait till next week to try again just desperate to get the relief. Feel like a failure getting it wrong. Just hope I got some in. Anyone else had pen that didn t click twice. Any help greatly appreciated .

    Hi Sandramollie23

I've been using the pens for 17 weeks. No problems except with the first pen of new batch... Same thing happened as you describe.

Did you ever get to the bottom of the pen dripping issue?

Hi Maria, I have used The Benepali injections for the past 14 months. At first, I used to inject into my leg. It was so painful, used to bring tears to the eyes sometimes. A kind lady on this forum suggested I try it in my stomach, at first I was reluctant, but then gave it a go. So much easier and hardly feel anything now. I take it out of the fridge, leave it for 30minutes and then use it. I would recommend doing it this way, hardly feel a thing. I was really grateful to the lady that suggested it and no longer dread using the pens.  Hope this helps. Good luck. 😊

Hi Linda, It was me that suggested the stomach. So pleased that it has worked for you and all is going well smile

Maria, I’ve been having these injections for 2 years now and the results have been amazing. My consultant says I’m in remission which is great.

I swear by Linda’s advice. It used to take me ages to psych myself up to inject myself in the leg, but since I’ve been doing the stomach I just whack it in. It still stings a bit, but try and pinch a bit of flesh if you have any spare.

Good luck, it will get better!

Hi Smiley, I’m sorry, I didn’t remember your name, but I am really grateful  for your advice you gave me.  My RA has improved a lot since I started the Benepali, so all positive.  Pity my memory for names hasn’t!! Thanks again. 😊

hi sandra, I had the same problem, but after speaking to a pharmacist who know about these pen, I leave the pen out for a good hour to hour and half before I inject, I find the cold stops the pen from working properly until it has throughly warmed up. I usually leave my pen in my coffee table, go for a shower then come down check the temp of it, if it still feels cold I leave it another half hour, then I inject, but only if the pen feels room temp. Hope this helps.

I had this happen to me with three Epipens in a batch of 4 that were obviously faulty, agreed by nurse who retested and confirmed there was nothing wrong with my injection technique.

I have not had any problems with the pens from the new batch I had delivered.

Benepali seems to be working for me, which is a relief as I had major problems with the usual DMARD drugs.
