Hi my name is Barb

I'm New to join this forum but have been reading for a long time now, and learn so much information that help me believe no I am not crazy I am just   like you, premenopausal.

Being 52 years old I must be close now to menopause .

But my symptoms  have changed and I am confused to why,

3-4 days Before my 32 day periods I have odd heart palations, anxiety, disturb sleep nausea but not often,  then 3-5 days after my periods the same but then levels out and do fine until the next period is due .

but in the month of January I had no symptoms at all!!

Could not understand why but I went with it  oh it was Marvellous. Lol

But then finish my period nothing , then few day later out of the blue all the symptoms are present and have not let up the nausea is more then normal  only difference is no bleed , why the change ? is the the way it is now for years or just a bad month never happen before , It was always before my next periods  and few days after  it's been 2 weeks now ,I hope this makes since and someone  can shine some light on this to help me understand ,

thank you so much for taking the time and consideration to read this .

Working full time try being a good mom and wife a up beat and happy silly mom is gone, being a supporting member in the community , and to help others is very difficult.

    Hi Barb

I can relate to you on the anxities and the palpitations I am 46 and in menopause

My palpitations stopped and so did a lot of my anxieties.

I'm not taking any HRT because I do not want to mess up my body with hormone pills plus I am on a thyroid pill for life and I have high blood pressure and diabetes

I am going about this the natural way instead of putting more hormones into my body.

I am peri. Had everything BUT hot flashes, depression and sleeping better than 2 years ago. In fact, when my stmptoms got worse, i had very little hot flashes and slept luke an angel, lol. SOMEHOW my hormones must be better balanced (even though low) so I feel quite well but still no hot flashes. :S.

Canada, hey!!!  No, maybe I was not clear, I meant I HAD EVERY SYMPTOM MINUS depression, hot flashes and sleeping problem...  I DO feel a little over sensitive some times, but I guess I know when the hormones are playing my feelings and just ignore it. I know for some people it is impossible, so they have to take antidepressants.  About the relation of HOT FLASHES with PANICK ATTACKS, I had terrible panick attacks, WITHOUT HOT FLASHES. They are gone, still can cout the hot flashes with my right hand.  I hate this name, I was never in panick or stressed, so the reason is completely hormonal and not emotional.

I only take vitamins,  Multi + D + Magnesium, Omega 3, but that is all...

Believe, you will feel much better sooner or latter.  Find your ways to cope with your symptoms. I HAD MANY!!! If I had not find this website, I would get crazy thinking I had some grave desease!

About HRT, I try to avoid it not because the ideia is not tempting (feeling and maybe looking like 30 again, haha) but because I do not feel confident about them - not sure if they work their magic, and even more scared they will give me cancer.  But, in my case, I can choose, it is not like I feel lawsy anymore...  Best luck!

      There is 800

vitamin D on my bottle of women's oem a days for 50 plus some say a lot more some say 1000 how much is safe?

Well, some women here tried HRT and it did not work :S.  Some times is so difficult to find the right dose, that it messes everything again :S. But there are some that say it does wonders for them.  I was never the luck one, lol, probably would take forever to find the right dose and when they found it would be time to stop, hahaha.  Stopping is other problem... If you do not do right, you will end up with the same symptoms you get in peri.

About your aspect, of course, we are getting old, that is enough to say.  And hormones play a big roll in beauty, for sure, but if you take better care of yourself you can do almost what the nature is not doing anymore - less the aging factor - I guess. Use a good mosturizer for skin, hair and even other dry parts - lol. It will work.  Eat well, exercise, take your vitamins, you will look better in a few time, specially when the symptoms diminish. I looked worse when I felt terrible - brittle everything, pale, buggy eyes. I would look in the mirror and see an old lady - now I am back :D.

Better you check with your doctor how much vitamin D you should take.  He will test your blood and tell you, same as my did.  Some people are really short on it and the doctor may prescribe 5000 UI. People with normal-low levels will take around 1000 UI a day.

      Keep in touch smile

I'm afraid we all seem to be complete individuals here....I'm in my 60s and still have the occasional night sweat....but as a rule, and now completely through menopause....feel good..!!

Speaking to my friends there just isn't a " normal" ! So just look after yourself.

    good luck.
