Anyone else had this?

Been Christmas shopping today and in and out of various shops, every time I went through the security thingies near the door, I set the alarm off!

Oops πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ƒ

oh good lord, what next?? I did receive a little card to use in airports and courtrooms stating I had a prosthesis. I have set off no store alarms but I'm only 2 weeks out and have literally only set foot in 2 stores, neither very high security-type!

Well it's very odd as these were only supermarkets and matalan! Not exactly high value stores, and it's the first time it happened today, but this isn't the first time I've been shopping since my op. I checked it was me though, hahaha, I tried it a couple of times πŸ˜‚ I thought maybe a tag had been left on some shopping, but no. Just me and my hip πŸ˜ƒ

I wondered if that would happen, planning on travelling back to NZ for Anzac Day 2017, for my family a terrible year, being on a pension I am having to plan this far out so I have enough saved for the trip.

So i am going to have fun going through the airport. Shrugggg, been there done that once before, as I came off the plane on another trip I had a hot flush (joy of being female) of crazy proportions, sweat was running down my face, and my shirt I was wearing was soaked in minuets, so what does security do ping me as suspicious. It wasn't until an older lady walked into room she took one look at me and ordered the men out, grabbed some paper towels wet them down, and handed them to me, and said hot flush, by that timeΒ  I was upset as well, which didn't help.

Lyn I can't help laughing at ur post as same thing happened my hubby going through airport. He doesn't have hot flushes (I hope) just blood pressure & stress.

I should certainly hope he didn't have the same problem as me. Last time I visited NZ from Australia, I was pinged at the australian end coming home, Why had I been away only two - three days, and then a list of accusations when I didn't answer quickly enough.

I must have looked like I was some kind of crim, little 60 old white haired lady, or maybe not so little is a more honest description of myself.

I don't think I even answered him, I just collasped in tears, senior woman came over, and took over, and asked me nicely the same questions, she got her answer just beacuse she treated me like the grieving person I was.

I was feeling dreadful, had been home to attend my Mum's funeral, over Xmas, so this time of year very happy and very sad all at the same time. We Nz'ers who live on the East Coast of Australia, travel home to NZ for long weekends, Xmas, family birthdays, weddings etc, $300.00 return airfares, and three hours on a plane, not too diffucult, with 30 minutes drive to the airport both ends.

I went to mallorca in september set the alarm off at airport coming home told the guard hip replacement she waved the hand scanner over and waved me through so no bother at all. Just got some funny looks as my wrist was in plaster after breaking it on holiday.Β

Depends on the settings they use. My husband who is a veteran hippy sets the alarms at about 50% of airports. Chatting to one of the staff once she said they can easily tell it is a hip replacement when they put the wand over it. So now that is both of us

Did not set off cruise ship security during cruise,Β

Hahah it was funny. At first I looked to see if the security guard was coming but they all seem to be too busy chatting so I thought I'd have another go. Small things and all that ....πŸ˜‚

Must just remember to allow an extra 5 minutes at an airport tho!

Takes longer than 5 mins at the airport! I have a drama every time with my knee , so be great with the hip now as well😱✈️✈️✈️✈️

Is it a metal hip? Security takes ages as it is, especially taking off shoes and not being able to bend over and tie laces easily.

Better wear slip ons then Tony. I'm dreading the time when I have to tie the laces of my golf shoes.
