New Osteoporosis diagnosis

After reading many discussions in this group, very happy to find this group, I see that I need to add vitamin k and magnesium to my vitamins already take Hydroxyapatite and d3. Very shocked to learn that a -2.5 for my left hip was not as a terrible diagnosis as they made it out to be with  Osteopenia in lumbar spine. They tried to put my on Reclast and when I refused, they  tried prolia, which I said no to that too. They ordered Aledronate 70 mg. Not sure about that. Always hear everyone complain of bone pain. Any good reviews?

Scoliosis is very common in the population.  My physiotherapist gave me exercises to help straighten me up. Mind you, mine was still very mild. confused  If yours is bad maybe you can get similar help?

My scoliosis isn't bad enough to stop me playing tennis, or doing anything else. It's not noticeable either, to anyone else. Im very lucky not to experience pain either. Ironically, I had more back problems when I was much younger than I do now. My DEXA scan was performed at my request. If I hadn't had that I wouldn't have had any idea that, at that point, I was osteoporotic. Now, 6 years on due to the improvement, I have osteopenia. Thank you for your advice.

Yes, Anhaga, I believe that is correct. When I asked my GP what was causing my back issues she replied all of the above which means degenerative discs, arthritis, scoliosis and osteoporosis. Scoliosis on its own is not so bad as most people acquire that as they age. It is the combination of everything that causes the misery!
