    Hi Shirley,

Yeah I get this in my right foot. It could be sciatica as sometimes the fibromyalgia can irritate your nerves. It sometimes comes with pain down the leg and buttock. Pretty unpleasant but in my experience comes and goes. You can get some exercises to lessen the pressure. Hope that helps! :-)

I just posted some good info to you and it's being moderated....I give up, can't say anything or if I say too much look out.....

      Do you take magnesium....it's important....

All minerals are so so so important. Magnesium is the mother of all minerals for your muscles. Chloride form is most bioavailable. Your skin also absorbs more than your GI system. So oil or lotion is best. How do I know?

I drink ionic minerals like koolaid all day. But  I just had a spasm from my left shoulder to my right knee. No kidding. Like a full body charlie horse with all the associated nerves on steroids. These types of spasms usually last weeks & feel like the muscles were ripped, even under the care of a physiotherapist. I tried to walk it off & had a 91 year old man pass me like I was standing still. Lol

Did research. Limped my behind down to the vitamin store. Bought Magnesium Chloride oil & covered my whole darn body in it...twice. Added heat, drank some chamomile tea, slept like a baby. Which is rare in itself. Bonus, my crazy dry skin is damn beautiful today & I can hardly tell the spasm happened at all. BTW it was 11 bucks with tax for the oil and it goes a long way.

I use mag oll some times but it can irritate my skin too. Mag chloride also comes in tablet form and I buy it also, and citrate and glycinate....I have researched this mag issue for years....it's almost more important than gulping down calcium tabs.

      Ooh. I like you Joy.

Oh yes. Any kind is better than none. I can't put the oil on my face. It burns. Don't ask me why I tried it. I mean, I guess, who doesn't want a prettier face? For a lot of chronically ill people, absorption is an issue. Between that & the price... the oil was MY best option.

Magnesium, zinc and calcium all work in sync best in your body. Kind of like Sodium & Potassium go hand in hand. So I still recommend some kind of trace mineral supplement. Pills are easily dissolvable and will even start to disintegrate if not kept in its bottle OR liquid-if you can handle the salty taste. Soooo worth it though.

I also failed to mention this. Magnesium gets "things" moving. So if your on meds that are constipating or have bowel movement problems, there you "go". But not in a laxative, stay close to the toilet way. A healthy way. TMI? Maybe. But wouldn't you be mad if you weren't warned?

I just posted on the Chronic Fatigue group a form that is the Best recommended by a fellow researcher out of australia who deals with CFS.

Magnesium L-Threonate, best for brain and memory support. Do a search, it's more pricey but if it's the Best, why not....I deserve the best.

Yes, mag keeps things moving...wouldn't be without it.

Thank you. I was astounded at how many different forms there are. I was so focused on killing that spasm I didn't read on the other forms.

It's funny, the more I learn the dumber I feel. Lol

Looks like several different forms for various ailments is the way to go. Idk that I have CFS but who couldn't use a little brain support, right? And most dysfunction seems to start in the brains biochemistry anyway. So I may well be using a band-aid form versus a cut-it-off at the source form form of mag.

I love these forums. I always think I'm going to help people and then people like you always teach me new stuff. I love it. No, not kissing butt. Just enjoy knowledge.

Love this alternative world, and I've been learning for the last 25 yrs and just learned about the L-Threonate from a smart person out of australia....love it....

BTW: Oxide is your least good mag form...causes diarrhea for one thing.

Good to keep things moving but not running.....ummmm

Haha. I'm kind of a cheat. Granted I do an unimaginable amount of research & even do charts on poster boards when things won't sink in. But I have a chiropractor/ naturopath /nutritionist/ FBA practitioner /everything person I see once a week. She is priceless!

Since I've gotten here I've talked about magnesium a lot...for bone health, cardio health , muscle spasms, relaxing mineral....do some research....There are links that talk about magnesium deficiency....it's almost more important than calcium... Vit D3 is critical too. .J

Hi Shirley, If this pain moves to your heel it could be plantar faciitus. I've had it a few years, was intermitent but now mostly constant, can barely walk sometimes because it's in both feet. Things that can help, don't wear flat shoes especially with a hard sole, try to get shoes with a small, preferably padded heel, sometimes naproxen takes the edge off but not always, hope your pain goes away soon xx

    Hello Shirley,

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Really painful, and I found I was limping! The pain wasn't excrutiating, so I found I could live with it. It disappeared in a couple of weeks. I have forealised I get these random pains , they move around my body, then disappear after a couple of weeks.

    Take care, Anne
