new to fybro

Hi, I am 41 and have two children, and I have just been diagnosed with Fybro but when I think about it, I started years ago. I have suffered for years with painful periods (being treated for early change with HRT, which supprisingly did not work), and tiredness becoming worse in 2005 when I also started with IBS and I had to give up my nurse traing. I have since worked in the caring sector, managing but always tired, but at the start of this year I bacame worse with symptoms of irritable bladder, IBS, widespread pain, joint pain and a feeling of swelling in cartain places. I came to a halt last month when my pain became virtulaaly unbareable, I was very emotional, and my mobility poor, climbing stairs was like climbing a mountain. Everythig hurt. My G.P investigated and found me to have Fybromyalgia with depression and Oesteo arthiritis in my neck. I am on treatment now with amitryptiline 50mg, paracetamol and ibrophen. I sleep better now since I have been on medication but still get pain and fatigue on doing any task. I feel about 90! I appreciated reading about other sufferers with fybro, as I did feel quite alone.

    I like the christmas tree Ses it is really good. How did you do that. I wouldn't know where to start. I did like Diana but she is the same every week now. I thought she would go or owen last night.

    I know it is a while to wait to see gp but as he is on holiday or would rather wait to see him. :lol: My consultant will probably ring me at home to tell me what he wants me to do. He normally rings me at home than send a letter. He is very good and if I have a worry about the cancer he will always get back to me at home quickly. My headache has improved today and not taken any tablets. You could be right with it being sinusitis. What do you take for yours when you get it! You did the right thing we going to another doctors practice. It always pay to see another gp or change to another practice. :lol:

    Hi Lindy I was shocked about Ruth too. I also want Alexandra to win! She is my favourite and like louis said could be another leona lewis. My son entered a singing comp at a club in Manchester a couple of weeks ago.

    There were three guys taking part and had to sing without any music. The other two guys had backing tracks can't understand why when you had to sing without any music lol. Anyway was up to audience to decide who was best and my son Chris won. He got ten pounds for taking part in that heat and now goes on to next heat. He will get fifty pounds just for taking part and there is a chance of winning £5,000. He was a bit worried as he had a couple of pints before he sang. He didn't know about comp and was on the spur of the moment. :lol: His next heat is on Sat 6th December so keep fingers crossed for him. Don't know what he is going to sing yet!

    Well I hope we all get a restful sleep tonight. :lol:

    Hi Tess, Ses and everyone,

    Sooo... stiff today!! Woke at 3.30am with a migraine, meds I have for it always work quickly and they don`t normally develop into a really bad one but stiffness is always 100 times worse for a few days. Its so strange what an impact the fibro has on everything, seems to make everything worse!

    Intended to get decorations out today ready to put up tomorrow, but couldn`t face it being so stiff and all. Will see what tomorrow brings! My daughter is on a late tomorrow so said she will help.

    I think Alexandra will win, but have to be careful I don`t cause an argument in our house as my daughter is a fan of Owen. (can`t spell it the irish way)!!!

    I liked your tree too Ses, but like Tess I wouldn`t know where to start!! My daughter and her friend have just got me into MSN but I can`t even manage to put in the fancy words etc on there!

    Well going to have an early night tonight, not that I expect to wake any more refreshed, but just feel I need to rest.

    My son calls him Oggan because of the Irish spelling with a gh in it :lol:

    I did love Ruth, thought she was a great role model for curvy ladies. :D

    Thanks for saying I can come in and play. Your forum seems a nice friendly group that chats, same as the ME one. It's nice to talk, and not just about the aches and pains and difficulties. :D

    Hi Linda, Alicia and Everyone!

    How are we all today. :lol: I hope you feel refreshed after your early night Linda and not too stiff and sore today.

    I didn't feel to good last night sat watching the tv with my husband then all of a sudden felt really woozy. Was worst when I got up and walked around felt like I was drunk and had to much to drink. Mores the pity lol :cry: Felt I wasn't walking straight and wobbling! Was worse when I went to bed and layed down the room was spinning. :cry: Not any better this morning and my husband got up and made me a cup op tea :lol:

    Has anyone else felt like this with fibro. Or could it be my thyroid levels!

    Talk my temperature this morning and was real low at 34.3. :cry:

    Felt a lot better later on in morning but am starting to feel really tired again. Going to have a cuppa and rest in a mo. :cry:

    Hope everyone else is ok with this cold weather. :cry:

    Hi there everyone,

    Well Tess I think it was Ibuprofen that I used for the sinusitis, I know how painful it is as you wake up and the headache is there, it doesn't shift no matter what, the pain is around your forehead / eyes and the bridge of your nose, a kind of tension headache it feels?? I hope you get sorted out soon, It is good that your consultant is caring to contact you, so nice to know!!!

    Diana is getting a bit boring as I liked her at first but I have gone off her now as she does sound the same now nothing new!!!!! I would like Alexandra to win too!!!! and I can't believe the old x-factor entries from last year have their singles out.....

    Just to say Di emailed me and would like to say that her PC is in the shop being mended and so if you would like to contact her by email please do as she is having problems using her sons laptop!!! She hopes to be back online in a few weeks on her own pc xxxxx
