That's the purple inhaler? I can't say that it improves my health, but I guess it does me no harm. I have been taking it for years, so unless I stopped I couldn't say whether it was a good medication or not.

hi Christine thank you for your reply

i was breathing bad, but my worse problem was chest pain, tight band high in chest almost constant when they put me on seretide (yes the purple one) it really helped within 2 weeks no chest band! yay breathing was much better TILL they decided to stop it and cut it out (long story) when i went on 250 to wean off it all my symptoms came back with vengeance, i was put back on 500 about 10 weeks ago but its just not working!!!

    Hi Jackie

I've had COPD for two nd a half years. Was on just serevent twice a day at first but now on spiriva as well now nd it works well for me. Didn't think the serevent was working as l got very breathless but feel much better with the spiriva. Might be worth a try.

    thank you

I've been on Spiriva for several years now. I assume it's part of the standard treatment for COPD.

I have been on Seretide 500 for about seven years along with salbutamol and spiriva, also oxygen. Because of the bone depletion that can be caused by these medications I am also taking Calcium tablets.June

Oddbiddy, I had forgotten that the COPD nurse who visited me recently said she would be writing to my doctor about vitamins or something else that will help ward off the bone problems. I must follow that up.

Hi Christine, hope so it's important we don't want porous bones if we fall. June

    Hi Nanajac

My friend is on Seretide for Bronchectisis and COPD and swears by it, but I get on better with Serevent and Budesonide. I also have tight band round my chest, but have bad posture and heavy breasts were I have doubled my weight since becoming so inactive, then again I am 70 and have had COPD since my 40's. Maybe another drug would suit you better. I am also on Spiriva sometimes called Tiotropium which I find very helpful, so perhaps have word with GP.
