Night time is the worst. For you, too?

Hi guys.
I wanted to ask if anyone else here with hemorrhoids suffers the worst at night?
I've been in pain every night now for weeks and I'm getting worried I may never feel good again.
I have an appointment with my specialist tomorrow and I can not wait.
Anyway, just wanted to pop in and ask that question and say hi 🙂
Thanks for reading!

Hello again, friends.
I thought I'd give a little update since I'm currently lying on my side trying to calm down after a bowel movement/ shower combo.
My butt pressure is finally going away. Thank the goddess. But bowel movements burn like a banshee. And I'm still getting sharp jabbing pains that remind me I'm not out of the woods yet.
Yesterday afternoon I took a Vicodin and my husband came up and we took a nap together. It was the best I've felt in months.
Today I'm getting a massage to help get rid of the stress I'm carrying in my muscles. Like I said before--these hemorrhoids not only wreak havoc on our butts, but also our minds. I've lost 13 pounds since this all started. I guess that's a silver lining.
This has been one ridiculous experience. I think I'm feeling better? If only we didn't have to have bowel movements.
I hope you're all doing well today.
Love,
Susana

Hi Susana
Glad ur on the mend!!! Agreed. Bowel movements for now anyway totally suck!!!!
I'm finding my diet has to be fairly low in fibre or I just go 3-4 a day!! I ate a pear yesterday and have gone 3 times today. I hate hate hate pears now
I'm dreading tomr cos multiple bm just aggravate the whole area so badly😫😫😫

Sez, that's awful that fiber does that to you. Especially since everyone and their brother always says to consume so much fiber. I hate having to think so much about what I eat. Miss the days where I could eat whatever I want and not suffer even a little for it.
I hope you're feeling better this evening. 🙂
I ended up calling my doctor and informing them that my slow recovery was giving me panic attacks at night because of the stupid pain. I couldn't believe it when they told me to come in and let them have a look to see what is going on.
I had to wait an hour to see the physician assistant but it was worth it. She said my hemorrhoid and the band are
Gone but that I have major irritation in there because the band was placed close to the line where the pain sensors start. She said no wonder I hurt so much. She also said I was all red and inflamed in there from the diarrhea from my stress of it all.
She said I should start feeling better in about a week provided I get the diarrhea under control.
Easier said than done, am I right?
Anyway. I feel relief knowing what's going on down there.
I actually cooked dinner tonight--scrambled eggs and toast. My husband was like--nice work 🙂
Extra strength Tylenol and my ice again.
Love,
Susana xoxo

Hi Susana
That's such a relief to know what's going on at least and just time will heal you
It must've taken the edge off the anxiety
I'm glad you cooked dinner etc. it's the spurts of normality during this turbulent recovery that keeps us going
I wish my bowels calm down and I don't have that feeling of needing to go every few hours It's socially limiting as I can't plan my day really
Anyway happy healing to you

Hi Susana
How are you doing now ?
I'm ok. Saw my surgeon this week and two wounds still remain unhealed. They look better than 2 weeks ago but he said if they won't heal in 4 weeks he needs to surgically clean them. It's a 5min procedure in theatre but i was disheartened at that possibility. It's been such a turbulent recovery as it is
I have everything crossed it won't come to that
Update me on your progress

Hi Sez. I've got my fingers crossed your wounds heal so you don't have to do the cleaning. It's truly amazing how difficult an area this is to keep healthy. To think so many others never even have to think of their hemorrhoids--it makes me envious. Are you in any pain, Sez? How are you feeling physically and mentally?
I'm still trying to get better. I wake up every day and wonder if today will be the day i feel "out of the woods", but I'll still waiting for it.
I have a pinching swollen feeling down there still--they assure me it's normal, and I guess it is but geez. Last night, just to get out and do something fun, we went to see a movie. By the end of the flick my butt was driving me crazy.
My poor husband is getting his own stomach distress over me not feeling well.
At this point, I don't care if I actually feel good anymore--I just
Don't want to hurt every day.
Take care of yourself, Sez. You're nice to message me here.

hello Susana... I totaly can relate to you. I have been there. i have had my haemorrhoidictomy last 2009. Yes, I had been in so much pain, discomfort and embarassment before. The surgery rally matters. It helps a lot, therefore, i advise you to have it asap. But, mind you, the process is so painful. The post op... you really have to endure it, but after a few days, things will get better, I promise. Just remember to follow post op instructions.

Hi sweettamarin
I am in awe of those of you who have had the hemorrhoidectomies. Here I am, bitching about one hemorrhoid banding recovery, and I know everyone who has gone through what you have gone through has experienced way more than I have.
I hope you are feeling great and way better these days.
I can't get over these hemorrhoids, really. I mean, who the heck ever thinks they'll grow up to have hemorrhoid pain. It sucks.
I'm still dealing with annoying as hell tenesmus...one month after my banding from hell.
One day I will feel normal again.
Thank you for your response!
