What a roller coaster of a day. Got admitted at 4pm & had huge anxiety attack. Settled down now & they're giving me sleeping tablets to help me sleep. My surgeons been in & tells me he's trying to slot me in 1st thing & I should be back in my room by lunchtime. Wish me luck. This has to be the scariest experience yet, the positivity on here has kept me strong x

Best wishes. There is really nothing to be frightened of. I had never been in hospital before so had no idea what to expect plus I only waited seven weerks before my op so it was all rather fast. The spinal is a doddle, you don't feel the needle go in and I opted for a sedative type thing instead of a general anaesthetic. I don't rremember a thing. I didn't wake up in pain as the area is flushed with pain killer during the operation. I was in a chair with makeup on at 7pm for visitors (got back from theatre early afternoon). So don't worry.

Wow what a feeling😃 I'm just sitting in my chair beside my bed after taking about 6/7 steps on crutches. I'm delighted but feel like I've had a very intense session in the gym. My butt is very sore & my muscles are weak but I feel great otherwise. I hope it stays that was. More physio later. Terrible nights sleep last night. 10 minutes here & there & lying awake for hours, so I'll try to have a snooze soon. X
