Counselling can and does help some people. However, using a scattergun approach it is never going to help the majority. There has to be a better way so it is up to each individual to protest. Protest rather than complain. On the basis that counselling should help then 'I' want counselling that meets my needs. So put that point to those in charge and to those who sent you there. It is a waste of time, energy and resources for any patient to be sent to any session that does not meet their need.
If that is put forward in a positive, direct way then there must be a reasonable response and from that further action might be possible. Only if that fails should a complaint be raised. But do raise a complaint if nobody is listening or attempting to find 'your' answer.

I do need to have a chat with my GP as i feel im wasting my time and the groups
Medication is only one option.Im very open minded to alternatives so i can hopefully discuss these
Thanks again

I have tried but i do not feel the groups sessions are for me.They seem to focus on anxiety alot too and im fortunate that i dont suffer with that
Chat to the GP is required i feel and see what is offered

The main help is knowing ones drawbacks, actually
going to a group can uplift one. The group can
contain motivation by seeing how the others live.
At your age I would search for a group holiday, whether
in this country or abroad, if you can afford it.
It will take you our of your comfort zone.
It will also give you some motivation to get
out and do things you never thought of.
I did a coach tour iin Scotland with my mother
3 months after my father died. i LOVED IT!!
After arrivinf home,
I redecorated and really wanted to move.
It did me the world of good.
I feel the thing is David is to look around for
stuff to to do.
Whether it moving house, or moving into a
new area.
You look young enough to start a new life
in a new area.
think hard and make a list of where you
would like to live, maybe the the coast -
near the seaside, Brighton, Scarborough
or Norfolk !
best of luck, x

Thanks for taking time to respond here. Your suggestions are probably what i need and i can see there would be positive results from a house move.
However,i am married and my wife is disabled so i have to juggle work and caring so a move would be great for me but create more problems than it solves
She relies on family and friends locally so it just would not be practical
Thank you for your thoughts Linda
David.

Did your GP feel the next two sessions would hold some benefit for you, and have you decided to take the advice.
Sorry you have no motivation at the moment. Does anything give you a slight lift?

Im not sure of the GPs reasoning but i dont think i will return as it seems a complete waste of time for me
I have tried several things that i "used" to enjoy and it had no effect at all
