No sleep at night

Is it normal with fibro to not get any sleep at all of a night? But I'm able to sleep of an afternoon. My hubby gives me total support but he is concerned with my sleeping a couple of hours of a day but not at night. Sleeping tabs have no effect whatsoever, I usually end up watching TV or reading. eek

Hi Dippy yes it is normal I have trouble every night but I do get about 4 hours once I do go I take pragabalin twice a day plus I take tramadol which helps. Speak to your gp they will be able to help my doctor would not put me on sleeping tablets. But I think we all suffer with not getting enough sleep.

Thanks Margaret, it has been really worrying both of us. My doc doesn't like me taking too many sleepers and neither do I. But sometimes I just have to try them. I was only diagnosed earlier this year and I'm finding it really hard to cope. Reading this forum is great though.

Hi lack of sleep isnt helping with my body function, I struggle with doing things through lack of sleep and fibro restricting what I can cannot do. also it doesnt help with brain function. stress worry dont help our condition as it causes more pain. fibro is a nightmare condition to have with everything it throws at us.

    Hi Dippy

yes, sleep is a big problem. It helps to try not to stress about getting very little sleep, and try and wind down or do something relaxing before bed, but it doesn't always help. Perhaps try some natural things to help sleep like warm milk before bed, it's just a case of trying things out, sometimes they help sometimes they don't.

    hope it improves ☺️

I do try to not stress about it but I don't usually succeed. When I do end up getting out of bed (because I'm disturbing my hubby) I either have a hot chocolate or a chamomile tea which does relax me but doesn't make me sleepy. I eventually go back to bed about 6am and fall asleep for 3 to 4 hours. So I am getting some sleep, just at the wrong time of the day lol. Thanks for your reply biggrin

Hi again Boqer, I took 10mg of Diazapam before bed last night. I got a fairly good nights sleep, the first in ages. The only problem is, they are very addictive so can't do that too often sad

It's good you got some sleep, but be really careful taking them, like you say they are very addictive, and with all our other problems you don't need another. 😕
