I have been struggling to get my prescription also due to manufact problems, I have since found out that the real reason is lots of patients have reported liver trouble while taking these, all Alli meds have also been removed from pharmacies too !!

it's a real shame because they have really worked for me with no nasty side effects, i'm not actually sure if they will be back on the market at all.

I decided to try Lipobind instead for the time being, day 3 of taking them - I have bad tummy cramps, a dreadful headache and have PUT on 2lbs ! GREAT !!!!

Don't know if anybody posts on here anymore but I contacted the drug rep today (pharmacy) and this is what they had to say:

    Dear Customer,

    Thank you for contacting Pharmacy2U.

I can confirm that we do not have any stock of the Orlistat, however I can confirm that we are expecting stock to arrive at the beginning of June.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Kind regards

Hi, I am out of Orlistat for a month, I knew that the lost of weight would not be so easy but I have started to control myself with what I have for a meal and I lost 2 lb. I know its not a lot but its better than nothing and I am not putting more weight on. I hope the Orlistat would be back soon so I can lose some more.

I have been on orlistat for 2 yrs - no side effects and certainly no liver complaints (i have checked the symptoms for it online )

In those 2 years I have lost 3stone - I still have 3 stone to lose, orlistat was a god send for me !! I am soooooooo gutted that problems have been reported and that it might not be back on the market, my dr has said there is no alternative to take. Last week I decided to give Lipoband a try after reading good reviews, I have to say a complete waste of money, I hade a dreadful headache, really bad tummy cramps and over the 3 days I took it PUT ON 2lbs !!

I wont be taking anymore or buying anymore.

PLEASE BRING BACK ORLISTAT is what i say.

Being obese is bigger problem than minor liver damage. Liver can be rebuilt easer and faster than loosing weight. I lost 4 kg in a month on Orlistat and gaing 4 again since the shortage. I'm on diet, I exercise and nothing helps. But fortunately I made my GP to check my hormones and,,. bingo! So new treatment will start soon.

@pukpuk, I don't want to be rude because I just joined this forum but that was such a flippant thing to say.

there are so many things wrong with what you said. What about the people in america that have died taking it? "I may have died, but look how good my corpse looks?"

Since Xenical became available in 2001, 24 patients taking it have died, one of liver failure and the others from heart attacks, gall bladder inflammation, multi-organ failure and lung clots. There were also five cases of sudden death where the cause was unclear. In total, the MHRA has received 1,252 reports from patients of potential side effects from Xenical, including heart problems, gastrointestinal issues and skin complaints. Nearly 100 were connected with liver problems.

While it is true that obesity also kills, until they resolve the heart attack problem, and the liver problem, we will just have to find a safer alternative.
