    Hi Twirlyv,

It sounds like most of the chemist in England have them back in stock now, I was told that everywhere was almost back to usual supply by my dietition and specialist nurse.

    Hope you get some soon.

Well orlistat isn't working for me or my hubby we have both been on it now for two months and neither of us as lost any weight we are both on a calorie controlled diet we go to the gym every day for one hour i am so gutted I've lost five stone and hubby lost two but I've still got three to loose I had my hopes set on a another stone for Christmas but it don't seem likely feel like giving up because its all I can think about and it's just making me sad all the time I've tried asking for help on what to eat at the doctors and even joined the alli web site but nothing so what's the point !

Hi Jayne, Orlistat work by blocking a percentage of the fat that you eat in your daily diet and I was recommended by my doctor that you should eat about a third of your diet each day in fat. They are very effective in getting those that eat a high fat diet to change the way they eat and to eat less fat. If you eat too much fat you get nasty side effects which is normally enough to encourage a lower fat diet. It may be that the reason they are not working for you is that you are already eating a calorie controlled diet so probably have a low intake of fat already.I am not a doctor but I would imagine that if you are eating a practically non fat diet anyway then they won't work

Hi Jayne ..Its really disheartening when you are dieting and exercising and nothing budges.. how many calories a day do you allow yourself on your callorie controlled diet?

Have you tried keeping a daily food diary ..writing down [B] everything [B] everything you eat and drink and adding it up at the end of the day?

This is what my doctor suggested to me

Whilst it is awfully disheartening I know that if Jayne carries on with the regime it will click in again and she'll start going down...don't give up now.....you've done so well - please keep going...try it for another little while.

Thanks guys 😘I've just been told to eat some of my exercise calories so I'm going to try that I normally have 1450 calories I've done quite a bit of exercise so I'm going to try and eat more, it is upsetting when you've worked so so hard all week and not lost my hubby actually gains on a Monday he's 15.3 by Friday he's 14.12 then Monday hrs back to 15.3 he's been like its for 6 weeks

Jayne - also remember that muscle weighs more than fat......I know you need to eat but I think 1450 calories is a lot if you want to lose weight....yes, eat more but less calories....how about ditching 250 calories per day for a while? You know best though!

    Hi people .

I notice that since I posted about the confusion regarding the dates, I see that the posts are now coming in with the correct date.

Sorry about that but I must say that my clinic has stopped supplying since three weeks ago so its an ongoing situation.

I have had two different stocks of Orlistat ..first one was Teva this one Roche (both 120 mg) but havent noticed any difference ..get the same effect with both If I have say something with a bit more fat like Cheese on toast .. so far I have lost 9lb over 6 weeks.. but like fendur gurl it does sometimes fluctuate by as much as 3 or 4 lb ..then comes down again.

I think your body does adjust to this a bit Emzy. Maybe most of the time you eat very low fat?
