Normal ECG and 2d echo, but still having chest pains and shortness of breath, Anxiety?

This started on january 7 when I was rushed in the ER cause I woke up catching breath, palpitations, and my hands suddenly became numb. It really scared me a lot I thought I was having a heart attack. After that day I am having this attacks frequently. I also experienced cold and sweaty palms whenever this happens. Ive done numerous ecg, 2 2d echo's, cbc, thyroid, chest xray, which came back normal. This has been happening frequently to the point that I dont feel normal anymore. Doc said it was just anxiety and that I should go to see a therapist. But i believe this isnt just in my head , i can really feel it even for no reason. My question is should i get more tests? Like stress test and holter monitoring? Cause whenever I go to the er they will just do me an ecg and by that time I am calmed down so Im not having palpitations. I also noticed that if im walking my bp is quite high. im only 21 yrs old btw. I hope someone can help me, my mom doesnt listen to me and just kept tellong me its all in my head. I donty feel like myself anymore cause my symptoms are stressing me a lot. I forgot to mention I went to the cardio and he used a stetoscope to check my heart and he said i have MVP (mitral valve prolapse) it scared me a lot so I repeated my 2d echo (echocardiogram) and it was normal. How was that possible sad

If it is costochondritis talk to your doctor about anti-inflammatory medications and about occupational therapy, kind of like massage therapist and a chiropractor. I was told I had costo many years ago and saw an OT and they did what they called manipulations on me. They would push on my chest and move my ribs and hit pressure points to release the muscles and all kinds of ouchy stuff ha ha. I would literally be in tears the next day but after day 2 it would feel a little better. Sometimes our ribs get out of place and stuck and the lining gets very aggravated so you have to put everything back and give it time to heal. Check into this and see if you get any relief. Good Luck!!!

First of all, I was diagnosed with anxiety over 20 years ago, so I know where you are coming from. I have had so many tests and seen so many doctors over the years it isn't funny. I even had a heart cath in 2012...that was normal too, go figure! I was told by a cardiologist many years ago that MVP does NOT cause any of these symptoms, I don't know if I believe that 100% because so many people who have that as their only diagnosis have similar stories. Even if this is anxiety and only anxiety, that doesn't mean it is "all in your head" and that doesn't mean the physical symptoms aren't real. I would definitely suggest seeing a therapist/counselor and a psychiatrist and discuss the anxiety possibility. One of the things that anxiety does is convince us that there has to be something else wrong, could there be, sure. Chances of there being after all the testing you've had done are slim to none. Try getting some treatment for the anxiety aspect and see if that does anything to help you feel better, it won't hurt anyway. Good Luck and hang in there.

The same case with me too. I am 23 years old masters student in Hungary. I have been having chest pains since February 2018. I woke up at 3 am. with extremely frequent heartbeats, very hard breathing and sweat. I visited my gp around after 1 week. She told me to get my blood tested. The blood test result was satisfactory. She sent me back home telling to come back after 1-2 weeks if the pain will continue. As a matter of fact it continuedsad By the passage of time my feelings got worse. I felt like I was useless and even was losing hope and purpose of living.(Is it a syndrom of anxiety?) I visited my gp again and she wrote referral to the cardiologist. In his turn, cardiologist checked me for ecg, stress test, ultrasound test. All of them have come out fine. He wrote me referral to have CT test which I am gonna have after 2 weeks and hope it will come out fine too. Although I am feeling much better as I don't have that many breath deficiencies, I still have pains in my heart. I have leart health is first of all carries significance for us and we-ourselves have to be concerned about it the most. No matter how developed our medicine is, no one will care about us unless we won't care about ourselves.

And still all the test, ECG, Lab test and xray. Is fine, and they always say that it's anxiety. So the better idea is to go to pyschiatrist ? Or any recommend to this issue. I wann love normally. Have you had a CT scan?

Not yet, but no need to do that. 'Cause my ECG is fine and Xray. They always say that, I need to go to a psychiatrist.

It is well worth pushing the point with your GP.  It has taken me nearly 8 months of continuous chasing and pushing but have finally been seen by the cardiology department at a hospital who is going to send me for a CT scan. I do also have anxiety issues and again, it is worth going to see someone for some form of therapy.  Unless you suffer with anxiety people don't realise how debilitating living with it can be and what kind of physical effects (not just emotional effects) it can have on the body.  Just keep trying both avenues - highly frustrating I know!
