Hi, I'm here because I have suspected glandular fever.

Last Monday night I more or less collapsed into bed freezing, I had to sleep in my clothes and slippers and couldn't move at all, I've never felt exhaustion like it. I thought I was just over tired.

The next morning couldnt move from vbed at all, nor have I been able to stay up all day since.

My glands are up in my groin, neck, behind my ears and armpits ( I can feel the pain there on and off) and my doctor today confirmed they were all up.

I've had a fever on and off.Sore throat (but not too bad, just sore).

For me it's the exhaustion and gland pains. I also have pain under my ribs, which is something I've never had before.

If I walk to the kitchen to make tea, or attempt to have a bath I'm so exhausted afterwards that I feel like I'm going to die. I get so dizzy and unsteady too sad

I was just wondering if this does sound like glndular fever or just flu? I'm having bloods done on friday.

I've had plenty of flus before, but they've never felt like this sad

Hi Rosie, yesterday and today I've been doing well, been out and about. Still get a bit tired and feel a bit strange, but it's much better right now.

      how are you feeling?

That's great - well done! I am having a rough time of it unfortunately. Gastroenteritis has given me a relapse and glands all up again which is sooo frustrating after it's taken six months of hard work to rebuild from the last flare up.  Hoping a good few days rest will help, trying to focus on positives and distract myself when possible x

      Hey everyone,

Still thinking about you all....Shawna so sorry to hear it's been such a struggle with your appetite and weight, I can only imagine how hard that must be. If you are able to boost yourself with some vitamins and herbs that's a good way possibly to maintain a more healthy weight even if you don't feel like eating as much. Thank you for your faith and prayers for everyone, I KNOW that you are going to get better so hang in there.

The same goes for everyone else, Mono, Caroline and Rosie I feel the pain too about seeing a healthy runner or whatever and wishing that was you. I just want you to know I'm thinking about you all and just really hoping and believing in a full recovery for everyone. I know everyone's tired and weary and fed up....I know the feeling all too well.....in those times just need to keep focussed on small things and one day at a time and not look too far ahead. These problems will be a distant memory one day (soon I believe).

Thank you Rhonda as always for your marvellous words of advice and faith. I trust God to help us all, just need to keep trying and not give up.

      Thanks Rosie,

?Only one down day this week, trying to get back to normal routine, I just wish I could trust the way I'm going to feel from one day to the next,

?How is your gastritis? I know from my daughter experience that it's miserable. She also had bladder, UTI issues to go along with it, these symptoms are better now, but the gastritis lingers.

      Hi Caroline,

?Glad you are feeling better, we seem to be on the same path, I have also been out and about this week, I'm just trying to do things and not worry about the down days, I had one yesterday but just went with it and tried to relax as much as possible.

How did you feel this week?

      Hi mono,

yes! We do seem to be really similar...I'm doing things, trying not to worry but also be careful at the same time. Just like you say!!

yeah, I'm doing ok, feeling pretty normal this week. I also just sit down and relax as much as I can.

did you say another member of your family has got this?!? That is so incredibly unlucky??  And I am so so sorry for you all.

      thanks for asking x

      Hi Caroline,

Yes, my second granddaughter to come down with it, she shares a bedroom with the first granddaughter,( who was the first person in our family to get it) we are very careful so I am wondering how it happened. She is also a teenager so could have picked it up anywhere. The pediatrician was going to put her in a sleep study as she had a concussion last year in a sporting event and what do you know Epstein Barr, I will be so glad when this horrible virus leaves our family.

      Hi mono,

ahh, that is just awful. We're not careful about sharing cups etc in our house, maybe I will start being stricter!  I've come to bed early, bit achey. Thighs burning.

I cannot wait this to leave, why can't it just go now??!!

Doing better, but just not good enough. Just not better enough😕

Gastritis is improving now I'm back on my special diet thankyou for asking :-) relapse from gastroenteritis continuing though unfortunately.

Your poor daughter - sounds like she's had a rough time of it - it's amazing she manages to keep working.

Glad you've had a generally good week! Here's hoping for more & more good days

      Hi Caroline,

Same with me achey and that weak feeling in the legs, probably from increased activity this week. I want this to leave too! I am also doing better but becoming impatient with the little relapses. Last week at the wedding I felt completely normal for hours, it was wonderful.

      Hi Rosie,

She really is having a tough time of it, a more extreme case than my granddaughters for sure, they are teens so have been able to rest a lot more and both granddaughters contracted it in the summer months so lots of sleeping for them which is the key.

Oh That's brilliant you felt normal for hours, when I feel normal, I almost forget I'm still ill!!! It's very frustrating.

when it comes back is just the worst. Yes, I feel so impatient about it, I feel like it should be over already. Fed up of not drinking, fed up of early nights, fed up of missing stuff and not up to things.its a half existence.

      ??😬😕😟😞😔😖😫😩😭

      Hi Caroline,

?Yes, that's how I feel. The not knowing from day to day how you will feel is really getting me down.
