Oesphagus inflammation

Posted , 9 users are following.

I had an endoscopy recently which showed inflammation in the oesphagus I already have lichen planus orally and vaginally when I saw the consultant I asked if there could be a connection he dismissed it straight away and just said no I,m now being treated with proton pump inhibitors and he's just doubled the dose saying its acid reflux.  I,m frustrated that he wouldn't even discuss it and when I,ve read up about it I,m a classic example I,m now concerned I,m being treated and taking medication for something I may not have. Has anyone else been diagnosed with oesphagal lichen planus and how did you get a diagnosis.

Hi ladies can I ask if your teeth and ears hurt with LS. I haven’t been diagnosed yet going to make a dentist app tomorrow as I have white patches in my mouth and around my throat is red and sore also my teeth and ears are hurting. I also have vulval lichen sclerosus. I’m in north east.

Yes my ears do hurt but I didn't realise there was a connection till I came on this forum

Your vulval lichen schlerosis could actually be lichen planus.  I was mis diagnosed as having lichen sclerosis for a while.  It’s very similar.  But lichen planus can go inside the vagina whereas lichen schlerosis doesn’t.

Hello Mary.Today I had endoscopy,  with spray to the throat, and I was told that everything is ok inside my stomach,no biopsy was taken .but I still have burning pain inside my throat x

It's good news about stomach but the throat spray they use has alcohol n menthol in it which are both irritating for olp I didn't have the spray ! I saw a brill dermatologist Thurs she gave me lidocaine spray instead plus flixonase steroids to try. She's taking biopsy of scalp to see if it's LP or dermatitis. Also sent me for lots of blood tests for zinc iron b12 liver n kidney n thyroid functions !! I feel at last someone is listening to me . She said my whole mouth was ulcerated and lost skin everywhere she said how do you manage to eat !! With great pain I said . Anyway try sea salt water gargles not table salt . Or coconut oil .I also got unflavoured mouthwash called ultradex xxxx

Great ,that someone start doing lot of tests on you ,doctors ignoring that very often ,let me know if your new mouthwash is ok .Yes I using coconut oil ,and sea solt ,and bicarbonate soda ,and steroids as mouthwash ,if my OLP is bad .I need to buy unflavored mouthwash definitely!  I hope your new medication will work great on your LP.xxxx
