Off balance

I have been experiencing an off balance feeling for at least 6 months. It feels as if I’m swaying. I can’t feel it driving, walking, or running. It’s as if the motion of those activities mask the off balance feeling. I have been countless times to the doctor. Any advice on what it could be?

I have been to a ENT. He said my sinuses looked rough, but everything else was good. I have bad anxiety, but I am on medicine for it. Ive been on anxiety medicine for two weeks now. It has made me worry less about the off balance feeling, but it’s still there. It’s only when I’m still. I can be sitting, laying down, or standing and feel it. It seems worse when I tired. I have tinnitus, TMJ, and eye floaters, heart palpitations as well. I have had my eyes checked, ears checked, heart checked, and an MRI. Everything was normal. The only thing to show up was a blood test indicated a possible auto immune disease. Another blood test indicated low blood sugar, but was normal the next time they checked it.

Thanks, I checked it out and it matches my symptoms to the letter. Everything from boat rocking sensation, better in motion, to feeling worse with stress and later In the afternoon. Now to see how to fix it.

A lot of docs don't know too much about PPPD because it was just introduced into the WHO (world health organization) in 2016. A neuro would prob know best if you can get a referral to one.

Hi guys, and hi smitty, I pretty sure I've spoken to you before.. I've now been diagnosed with vestibular migraine, MdDS and PPPD( I went to a new neurologist) I've now been told that you can feel better in motion with PPPD too.. I'm not convinced, and honestly I'm starting to feel like doctors have no idea... it's just a label not a diagnosis.. both MdDS and PPPD have a huge anxiety side effect.. How you deal with the anxiety is up to you..( antidepressants, yoga, acupuncture, etc) I've definitely found that if I deal with the anxiety my symptoms decrease, but I definitely feel it's a side effect and not the cause... I haven't had any medication for this and I'm doing okay, back at work, and I've had this off and on for 7 years.. good luck guys .. take care..

This all started for me November of last year. I went to every doctor imaginable. I'll help you by saying go get blood work done, get an MRI if possible then get an VNG done. Once all that is complete and it's all clear or chances are you may have issues with the inner ear, you may not and may have migraine associated vertigo. What your experiences is vertigo.... go see a PT as soon as possible and have them start you on VRT right away that will help with all you're feeling now. Trust me don't waste time thinking it's anything else it's all your vestibula system you just need to find out where don't bother looking for why... You'll get better and then you may get worse and wax and wane for a while keep pushing it goes get better. Just not over night. Good luck.
