I thought my off balance feeling could be attributed to something else...i.e. just getting older, sitting at my desk for hours on end but it is comforting to read these threads and realize it isn't in my mind. The one thing that makes me think it is anxiety is that when I am walking on a surface without carpeting, my balance is worse. This tells me it is psychosomatic. It is off and on too. For a week I have this feeling then I forgot I ever had it.

There are a few videos on youtube about improving balance. I am going to try one.A few weeks ago, I saw a 70 year old woman walking up a cement staircase without holding onto the railing. There I am behind her holding on for dear life, moving like a snail:o

    Hi, Wendy!

i just wanted to say that beta blockers lower blood pressure and can definitely cause this off balance feeling - I tried them at a much lower dose than you and they caused this very problem

Is there any reason you can't try HRT, if you'd like to? If not, there are certainly better things out there for anxiety if that is your main issue. Sending hugs!

      Good Morning Wendy,

Are you on the Facebook page “Fixed a flash“, there is a nurse practitioner that will talk to you for a half hour regarding Menopause/HRT. They are finding now that HRT is safe even for people who have breast cancer in their family.. I’m not an authority on this, but get a second opinion with someone who truly knows all about HRT. I hate to see someone suffer needlessly. Best wishes ...
