Hello, I took Olanzapine for about 28 days, 5mg, and I'm quitting cold turkey, I'm just wondering if anyone have any experience quitting Olanzapine for less than a month of use and can tell me what to expect quitting it? Thanks!

I just want to put a few words of hope on here for future readers. I was on 2.5mg olanzapine from February to May 2018.  I quit cold turkey as advised by my psychiatrist who assured me there would be no problems.  It is now a month since I quit. I have been to hell but I am on the way back.  Withdrawal symptoms I experienced were night sweats, anxiety, panic attacks, crying spells, suicidal thoughts, sleep problems.  This didn’t kick in til I was about a week or 2 off the drug. My psychiatrist had discharged me from his care and my gp was very difficult and didn’t believe I was in withdrawal.  I took strength from my mum and mother in law and decided to ride it out.  I read a book by James Harper about psychoactive drugs, and began using the supplements recommended about 2 weeks into the withdrawal.  Symptoms continued but gradually they have improved.  I have no affiliation with the program I just want to let people know what helped me.  They offered email support which was a real lifeline during the hardest times.  The woman I spoke to replied in good time and always knew the right things to say. I’m not jumping the gun and saying I am healed, but feel I can see the light now. I have managed to go back to work for a couple of days this week. This forum has been a gift during these hard times.  I’m so grateful for the people who have supported me both in person and online.
