Ouch .... that's not nice!!! You were out for a long time so I'm not surprised your knee is hurting but did you manage to get the shoes!!! I'm off shopping on Thursday for shoes, handbag and jewellery for my daughter's wedding next month and I'm taking the mother-in-law with me so she can get her outfit ... reckon I must be flipping mad!!! ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Oh Louise's that was a long old stint! ย I wouldn't do that before the op! ย I can only do a couple of hours at the most in fact I've just come back from a trip to M&S and Monsoon, that's all I can manage right now. ย It occurred to me while driving back that my operated knee although swollen and stiff, doesn't hurt! ย The other one does though, but don't think I could put myself through that again for a few years! ย Give yourself a pat on the back, you did it. X

hi elaine, I haven't done a stint like that for a year or so, so quite pleased, as long as the swelling and the pain goes. We have a big M & S 2 miles away, say no more......... Did you buy anything nice?ย

I'm sitting with ice on my knee (I'm 7weeks post op) and a cup of tea feeling quite happy that I did it, and yes I bought a nice maxi skirt and top for my holiday in June. (To cover up the horrific scar)! I only go to one or two shops in one stint, I don't have the mental stamina if I'm honest! X

I know what you mean, I was tunnel vision until I got the shoes then next on the list etc. I know what you mean about the scar mine is quite blue ish and the scar is jaggered not neat and pretty so maxi does seem the answer xx

No way ... we should show our scars off with pride!!! We've got to have something to show for all that we've been through ... ha ha!! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

Well done Louise. I know it's sore but you've done some 'normal person' stuff ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ok so maybe you've over done it a bit but the swelling will go down. At least you'll know next time to build up to it.

I'm 11 weeks post op and you've done more than I have managed so far. I am going with my mum to the theatre at the weekend and I'm already a little panicked about the train journey and sitting in a theatre for so long. It's a Christmas present for her otherwise I'm sure I'd of got someone else to go.

I can't wait to get back to a normal existence.

Just rest up for a bit. Maybe do some gentle movement later. It will hurt but it will help the recovery of you get it going xx

Wow the theatre we are booked for August because we didn't know how it would be. We booked the box as you can move the chairs around and they were the same price!! What are you going to see x

It's actually Lord of the Dance (I got confused when I was originally writing and thinking of later in the year when I've got to make it to London to see the Elephant man....this is just Manchester so not too far for me in Cheshire)....no chance I'll be joining in with the dancing!

I still have to use crutches to keep my leg as straight as possible and lessen my limp so at least I have those to support me.

I'm hoping I'll be ok. I've barely left the house except for appointments since I was discharged so no surprise I'm apprehensive.

I know my mum will be chuffed to see me out though so it will be worth it for that. I just have to decide what to wear....I've lived in jogging bottoms for weeks now. Hardly night out attire ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hope the ice has helped. Remember to take some ibuprofen too x

    Hi Louise

Like everyone else has said, that's a long time to be out at that early stage...my knee still gets swollen 8 months on.

Really sorry that the car door hit your knee...I can imagine the pain! ย I used to trip over ย my crutches when I first had my knees done, and when you jam your foot into the floor to steady yourself you certainly know it. ย Ice and elevation (and painkillers) for you now then. ย Take it easy.
