OMG! Atrophic Vaginitis what can we do?

This is an outrage! In the space of 2 months my life is now dominated by my vagina! daily viewing and decisions about how to achieve comfort. I can't believe it's SO uncomfortable...didn't see this coming..why don't we know more about it? Why are the solutions available so rubbish! It's progression is rapid. I can still have sex with very little problem, in fact masterbating and full vagina intercourse can relieve it. Thank you so much for everyone's posts, I've used all your ideas, coconut oil is a live saver, comes everywhere with me. ovules from Stress no more also okay. But now I'm on vagifem after becoming desperate and it eased at first but then today, day 4 it's red and sore. I've read lots of articles and aparently best results come in month 3-6. Also in these medical reports they say be sexually active, with your partner, with a device or solo....pelvic floor exercises too. Goodness...that's the sum of my research. What a nightmare!

Can you re write your comment so we can see it?

I've just read about red clover, going to get some and consume daily.

Update on my condition, day 6 is that vagifem is working well but need night time and morning insert of coconut oil too. Followed someone's advice about moisturising at night to ensure vag doesn't dry out during the night.

Hi It's actucally listed on the patient.info page about AV. It's natural isoflavones which imitates oestrogen in women. I've just bought some from Boots who have a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment. I checked out a range of concoctions but didn't want to be taking calcium and iron as well so was very pleased to find Boots own which is both cheaper and more trustworthy I believe. I suppose they should work to replenish the body of falling oestrogen. Hope so..

Who can relate? Its a constantly burning and itchy feeling vagina not only when going for a pee. And i have to go often. The blood in urine worries me. I cant c it but under microscope

hummm yes I still get some burning when I'm hot, tense or just because, coconut oil helps but as others have suggested vit e is kind, although not as fluid. I am beginning to realise the burning is soemthing to do with the PH level being wrong. When I'm really desperate over the stinging I use Greek yogurt, the thick stuff, lots of it inside and out, very cooling.

I've been thinking about you today and wondering if you need more confidence to demand better solutions from the Gyne doctors? I expect they haven't had to deal with the issues you have before, it's a new condition for someone to have suffered what you have so young and to be still living with an ongoing impossible condition. I've been thinking, for myself, if this got very bad I'd demand to have it cut out. They're very happy to cut out wombs and ovaries when they're past they're sell by date, why not a vagina that's crippling you daily? It's a well known fact that they only respond to demand, otherwise they leave us to get on with it. No body can feel or understand what you are putting up with and you shouldn't have to. Don't know if you can do pelvic floor exercises but they're helping me.

Well said and I agree we have to be strong and positive.
