Hi cookie. Glad you are doing well. Just rest loads.it is uncomfortable sitting isn't it. I am the same. Vaginal hysterectomy and bowel prolapse repair. I've had a couple of infections and put it down to having baths, wasn't told not to bath but after reading things on here I am sure I shouldn't of. Stick to showers and you should be okay. Take care and don't do to much.

The blood can take a few weeks to stop completely, think everyone is different but mine lasted nearly 4 weeks. Yes badedas is supposed to be good for healing stitches I've heard. So is salt in the bath. If your worried ring your doctor X

I had vaginal hysterectomy and prolapse repair (anterior and posterior wall repairs) on Tuesday.  Now three days post op.  No soreness, pulling or problems sitting down.  I actually think this has been too easy and wonder when the problems will start!  Only problem for me is constipation and not easy when you ve been told not to push.

I have external stitches the nurse says are very inflamed and look sore

they feel,it too like its pulling

I feel great apart from that hopefully antibiotics will clear it up,

Shecsaid I have really bad bruising too

wasnt told I had external stitching tho but said from day one it Feels  they have stitched me up too tight lol maybe not a bad thing haha ..

Did they send you home with laxatives ?? X

Hi Cookie.  No laxatives on discharge.  I took one Dulcolax  last night and another this morning.  I ve just managed to go to the loo!  Did have to do a bit of pushing so hope I ve not done any damage.  I was told to hold a pad or wad of toilet tissue to vagina when I went and I did do that.  Hopefully things will get back to normal.  I m now really tired so it's sofa and blanket for me.  Hope the antibiotics work soon for you and you're more comfortable.     Claire x

Hi Claire, I am coming up to 3 weeks post op and I have been taking Lactulouse since my vaginal hysterectomy. I am taking it after breakfast and after evening meal, to be honest I am a bit scared to stop it yet lol It is def worth taking as is scary when you need to push sad x

I've been drinking a glass of prune juice every morning, no other laxatives, for me this seems to keep things ticking along nicely. The reason I have stopped the laxatives is that at day 4 I literally had to run to the toliet, not good that soon after the op LOL xx

I'm 4 weeks post abdominal hyst and still find prolonged sitting can be uncomfortable. Are you stiing up straight? It is much worse if you do, I've found I can sit for long periods on the sofa if I have my legs up so that I am semi reclined, during my first week I sat in an arm chair and that was very uncomfortable, much better semi reclined. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery x

By that I mean length ways on the sofa with cushions on the arm to support my back, not feet on a rest x
