One Year PKR tomorrow/ swelling !!
Posted , 7 users are following.
Hello tomorrow I happily celebrate my one year PKR. But the last week or two I've been feeling like I'm swelling and yup I am , as I write this I'm iceing and elevating
Looking back over last month here is what is different . I've been walking more stop and start movements , up and down a lot from a chair ,and started wearing heels again which I'm so happy to be able to do again. Could that really be it ? I am beside myself .
Any thoughts ?
Also I had to change my log in . I used to be Debbie 72992 ( something like that )
Thank you for your thoughts !

I'd GUESS it could be all of those Debbie. Originally I was told swelling could go on for up to a year, but then once or twice two years was mentioned, and my surgeon said the ROM also increased over TWO years, so I'm guessing, while the main swelling etc. has gone down in a year, it's still suscepible to swelling over two years. But the stopping and starting and heels etc. have possibly caused more jolting on the knee. Hope you feel better soon though - ice and elevation should help.

Hi Chris
I've been being so careful and minute I let my guard down this happens. This morning knee is so swollen still and even a little painful to walk . It's like I'm back in the beginning days that'd I sooner forget!
Hope your day is a good one Chris!

Oh - I SO feel for you! It's disappointing and frustrating and I ccan imagine it's made you feel insecure about it again. I do hope it's better soon and a VERY minor blip that will see you looking forward again soon!

Congrats upon reaching you an-knee-versay, a big milestone!
Sorry you are suffering though. You have some great advice from the experienced knee community here, not much I could say as a mere rookie at nearly 9 weeks.
I am short in height so wish I could wear heels but arthritis in various joints has put a stop to that sadly, so it is flats and sensible now. I hope things will resolve for you whatever the cause. As they say, we can still be improving in small ways during year 2, so that must mean the knee is still an infant at year 1.
Take care!
