Op on Wednesday!!

Posted , 12 users are following.

I've just been given the go ahead for my thr on Wednesday as planned. My hb was low so technically it should have been cancelled but I'm 45 and otherwise healthy. Just had a visit from occupational health to arrange delivery of a chair, trolley, loo lift etc... Relieved it's going ahead as will have family around over Christmas but feeling scared now.

Just wish it was all over and could get on with recovery. I've put this off for so many years but have had to give in. Having bone grafting so won't know till after the op how long I'll be non weight bearing for. Just want to walk without a limp!! 😄

Thankyou, did you have a spinal? Just packing a little bag for tomorrow.

If you're having spinal, it sound so much worse than it is.  It's less of a pinch than having blood drawn.  I barely felt a thing and the next thing you know, you're waking up in recovery.

    Best of luck, Vicki.

It's hard to do this close, but try to relax. All the hard stuff is done, and you'll be through before you know. The hospital staff are so good at what they do.

See you on the other side.  You'll be great!  =)

Hi Vicki wishing you well today. I was in your position exactly one week ago today.  I was amazed at how smoothly everything went and how the thought of the event was far worse than the reality. A major operation was made to feel like a minor event!!  Best advice in the early days is take all the pain killers that are on offer to you as early mobility is recommended and you so will not want to move if you are in discomfort. You will be well looked after . Look forward to reading your posts in the fixture xx
