Hello fellow hippies

It is now just five months since my RTHR and I think I'm back to normal. So hands up all you hippies who think, as I do, that, as a reward for my extraordinary courage and being a model patient,  my wife should now allow me to purchase that lovely little classic sports coupé that I've seen for sale (quite cheaply) on the Internet.

      Hi Susan

Hazel here, (Derek's wife) he was an excellent patient, but don't tell him that or he may get big headed.

The only thing he moaned about was not being able to drive, he said it was like losing his legs. But he does say that it was well worth it, so when the weather is better we are looking forward to walking round some of England's lovely gardens. Good luck.

Man to man, I thnk you have got it all wrong.

You really need to thank your wife for the extraordinary care and patience she has bestowed on you by buying her the classic sports coupé.

Hi Susie, Derek is a careful driver but even at 75 years old he is not a slow driver.

But a sports car is another thing............

      Hi Hazel,

      Very nice to meet you.

My dear friend in Oxford, 82 years old, still drives a Fiat Pininfarina.  Sets my teeth on edge when he tries to overtake another vehicle...."Don't even think about it....!

He did drive Le Mans, in his younger years, though.....

If I say yes does that mean I can buy one too? Ive always dreamt of owning a Morgan  but apart from the fact its out of my price bracket as Ian says its a bit low to clamber out of - wouldnt mind trying though................

Keep on playing the lottery, you never know.

      Good luck for the future

That is one very expensive motor and would not fit on our drive and too costly to run.

A doctor friend of mine bought a kit car replica in California and had it built.  Chevrolet chassis and engine.  It was quite expensive, but I think it was a diesel engine.  You are right though  They are only fit for the American roads.  Just a bit of fun, though.

You really need to come to the Dark Side and ride a Harley-Davidson. They do trikes too.

It's about the journey, not the destination.

Or, one better than a Harley - Triumph Rocket III - 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, cruising at 140mph .......I always had a big smile when we were riding it.

      And it's BRITISH !

      Hi

Just think of the mess it will make if you run into something at that speed. Yeeukh? You would be smiling all the way to the crematorium! biggrin I'll stick to cars, thank you.

Oh you have to be mad to be a motorcyclist these days, most motorists drive as if you have a cloak of invisibility on - but if you do get bitten by the bug, there is nothing finer than a big cruiser.

We've agreed to disagree on the best motorbike, but we definitely agree that motorbiking is best. cheesygrin
