Thank you all for your good wishes.

    This group individually and collectively

is inspirational. It gives so much support, maybe we

should vote it the site of the year.

    You are so

honest, saying it won't be a walk in the park,

but it is worth having the op.

Good luck everyone. Just remember to look forward to week 2 when you begin to feel it was worth it. Don't worry about packing. I was told to bring stretchy clothes as we would be expected to be dressed during the day. What a load of rubbish. I had a clean nightie every day and that was it.

Let us know how you get on. Anyone in the sheffield area?

    Take care

      Hello Kate

I am going to spire Leicester. Mr power is my surgeon. He did my last hip so hoping the right one goes as well.

I was planning on taking one nightie for the 3-4 night stay. How can I put this delicately? Is there any reason I'll need more than one??

Not in Sheffield but in (East) Yorkshire. I'm due in at 7am on Wednesday this week.

I would take at least 2, unless supplies can be brought in. I had a change each day as I did not dress in normal clothes. So after 24 hours continual wear I was ready for a change after a wash. I normally sleep nude so it was a complete expense

      Dearest maggie -

Well, you have been there done that, right ? but still sort of nervous - I was absolutely freaking out when going in for 2nd THR - I don't know why - but again, once in the hospital, I totally surrendered -

      Good luck -

Oh, I was told not to compare the 2 surgeries - I did anyway and it was a bit different the 2nd time around for me ...

    Hello Renee

yes think you are right two operations will be different. I was scared witless first time so everything was better than I thought (except first 24 hours pain ..ugh). so must get my mindset to think worst and can only be better. my memory is already blurred and forget a lot of the procedure 4 months ago. glad you are recovering well and give me inspiration. Thanks so much. maggiexx
